First, I got to take Long most of the way there and back and it is so pleasant now with all the bike/ped improvements and the diverter at Addison. Second, I ended up riding with a dad taking his daughter to school on a cargo bike and we chatted for at least a mile. Can’t do that in a car!

I used to work at a store called Record City. It was started in the 70s when there was vinyl. I worked there in the 90s. Older gentleman comes in, looks around, and asks "where are all the records." Since vinyl was pretty much gone, we had to explain that. Happens to all of us eventually.

The camera is along Central across from the park. Hiawatha & Central is a stop sign (south side of the park). If you're speeding coming up to or leaving a stop sign that much...you deserve your fine.
Also, there is a stop sign at Hiawatha/Central, so you REALLY have to be trying to be speeding there.
IDOT says the 6600 block of North Central has an AADT of 14,300, or 429,000 vehicles in a month. So the speed camera ticketed 0.2% of vehicles here. Seems like 99.8% of motorists are actually fine with it. Costs zero dollars to drive below the speed limit. Let’s not reward scofflaws with attention
They usually do that on account setup, imho, because if someone typos a phone # during a transaction, same risk. So if they're going to use it, they usually have to check BEFORE the transaction completes.
I'm also liking the fill in of stations with docks. When Divvy first came to Portage Park, we only had e-bike options, but now we've got a number of docks that use blue bikes, and that can only help people ride more affordably.
