Walking my dog on the seafront where there’s a slope often results in me chasing dog poo down a hill, like the saddest Easter egg roll of all time
Future ghost. Curly now.

Enjoying the new series of Fisk, especially this episode set in a co-working hub. I’ve been chortling at “crocs for dogs?” on the whiteboard for several minutes now

Hey it was a perfectly good song & it was just lying around okay
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
Oh God I forgot how Candle in the Wind was the only music for 4 months or something.
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
Hehehehehe
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social)
So that’s why the Going for Gold theme tune has been stuck in my head for 35 years. Apparently it was co-written by Hans Zimmer
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
Literally only found out a few months ago it wasn’t. I’d been so confused
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
I am your humble servant, &c.
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
That’s probably a touch dark for me but looks like a very solid cup of tea, top marks
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social)
Write your own The National song by looking at your last messages on WhatsApp. Mine goes: I’m where I last saw you Clothes fashioned from errant pages I’m in your hands Ah poor boy Did you look like you liked it too much A monster Delighted to be asked
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
*clears throat* that seems like a very good deal and would probably SAVE you money, right???
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
Awful. Also they have full fat milk so it’s like drinking a tub of cream
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
Gross. Disgusting
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
That’s very unpleasant
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
To be honest my parents make tea the same way so the real question is how was I able to independently develop the one true way to make tea
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social)
Always confused when my sister makes me a cup of tea because I’m like. What is this. Why is it 50% milk. Why did you just flash the teabag at the water. Were you raised by wolves? BUT I KNOW SHE WAS NOT RAISED BY WOLVES
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
Counterpoint: I scream and run from them, also never been stung & have never had to have one sitting on my hand
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
I’m so sorry. That’s so disappointing.

Absolutely standard bloody wasp behaviour, the dicks

3. Straight chomp. An unusual option seldom employed - mainly reserved for when dog has abstained from food for a few hours, needing a proper audience and ambience (see above).
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
How eating now proceeds is down to a number of factors that I am uncertain on. Options include: 1. The parade. Individual units of food are paraded around the room and crunched ceremonially. 2. Compressed parade. Mouthfuls of food are chomped over the bowl with the occasional circuit.
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social)
This is how I know my dog is hungry. I enter the room. He is standing. He waits til I lie down on the couch. He waits til I take out my phone. He checks I’m using my phone. The eating may now commence.

SCHOLARS FINDING MY SEWING NOW IF I HAD BEEN BORN 300 YEARS AGO: and we think this might have been the embroidery of a very young child, maybe 2 or 3 years of age, attempting their name for the very first time ME (hurt): oi
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social)
It’s win-win when I mend something with a needle and thread. I’m good enough at sewing that whatever I’m fixing then more or less hangs together. I’m bad enough that my female ancestors can rejoice that instead of embroidery, somebody tried to teach me maths & physics instead.
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
Eek. Hope it passes quickly & you’re okay.
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
Oh goodness, had it a couple of weeks back… my sympathies
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social)
*slaps side of flat* for just five rooms, you can sure fit a load of moths in this thing

Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
Cutting out 9/10ths of my boozing made me stare into the soul of the nation & we have had virtually no structures for fun that aren’t drink-related. So glad 0% options are on the up, both in terms of tastiness & also as a good option for people who want to (or have to) drink less or not at all.

Always impressed to see the method on a smoothie recipe that attempts to say something other than “put it all in and smoosh til smooth”
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
Yes it’s gone but the cough remains!
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
Where do you stand on ‘thinking about it so hard that you have done as much work as actually just making it but then getting really tired because of that and having a cup of tea’
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
I mean I am but it’s a different flavour of insanity soooo
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social)
I’m definitely more bad at knowing what is going on in both global and UK politics now I’m not on Twitter near permanently, but the plus side is I’m not on the verge of total insanity so it evens out

Some very fine airports I have sampled: Gibraltar (it’s cool because of the road, the angle of takeoff & the big rock) Cork (don’t know why, it’s just nice & compact really) Louis Armstrong New Orleans International (beignets)

Absolutely terrifying that all of us are hurtling through life with as little idea as the next person of what we’re meant to be doing or what comes after the end, and millions of people have just been doing that for hundreds of thousands of years. In case you forgot.

I’d definitely like not to do this, I guess what I’m asking is how long nowadays to give it, what precautions to take for how long? Obviously few people seem to be taking any and I don’t want to be amongst them.
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s the perfect time for a nice rest in the theatre industry
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social)
What’s the etiquette around Covid nowadays? Stay home if you can and mask up til you’re testing negative I’m presuming, but anyone got anything helpful to say? (NB HELPFUL) And yes I know not everyone can be doing this or I probably wouldn’t have got it, but I’d like to be a decent human being…
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
Or the dogs are there but too small and we just assume they’re vases or mice
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
That’s it!

Kids, if your parents ever warn you that a degree in Classics will get you nowhere, you just show em that messsge eh

Pinnacle of human engineering though. I bet the Ancient Egyptians had them. Probably the Etruscans as well. Launching their dogs’ balls into their cippi and whatnot
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social)
I wonder how many times in the course of history this thing has been invented (the ball thrower, not the dog)

Back to the Future Part III! My template for romantic love was set by this film, unfortunately. So far there has been very little being saved from a coach pulled by runaway horses or being Victorian

Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
It’s also weird because I passed that test in the year 2000 and it’s now 2006. Oh well, best not worry about it too much
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social)
So twenty five years ago today I passed by driving test, which is so weird because I am but a young woman of 29

That tracks. I think a lot of traffic to & from the races
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
My friend lived in Blessington at the time and she said the levels of helicopter and small plane traffic to and from Kildare was off the charts, which was illustrative to me

I say in theory because who with experience will be able to afford to do them?
Many Types of Tea (@manytypesoftea.bsky.social) reply parent
In my industry I think they’ve actually gone backwards in some part of the country. A more senior job (in theory ) to one I did 8 years ago was just advertised for the same salary. More responsibility & less money, plus cost of living is astronomical.
