Lucifer does have reasons to not trust alastor which is fair especially because of his deal with Charlie but I think Lucifer has a bias towards sinners and we don’t know how much his pov has changed. Alastor also has reasons to not like Lucifer which is probably rooted by Trauma.
Also Alastor always wants to prove his usefulness in episode 5 when reminding Charlie what he’s done for her and later, when husk confronts him he says he can handle it, and later says it’s time I remind everyone why I’m here and maybe he meant at the hotel and not Hell? Anyways-
And if you also notice in episode 5 as I said Lucifer belittles Alastor and tells Charlie “who needs him because I’m better because I’m thinking and your dad.” Don’t wouldn’t suprise me if Lucifer wants to take Alastor’s place and just tease him as bonus and take it too far.
Let’s also not forget Alastor doesn’t like people of power and maybe there’s personal reasons because Al is creole and he most likely had a hard life because of people of power so deer boy has TRAUMA. Alastor is use to being undermined, Mimzy said people wanted to dismiss him-
The way Alastor insults Lucifer is by insulting Lucifer decor by saying the bar adds color and calling him short and he insults Lucifer’s parenting skills even though he knew it would bother him he wasn’t wrong Lucifer is still a dead beat dad but there might be reasons (Lilith)
says oh then that’a it’s called the Hazbin Hotel, Alastor then corrects him saying that it was his idea Lucifer backtracks saying like oh since it wasn’t my daughter‘s idea then it’s not very clever anymore. Which makes me think more Lucifer is going to say something undermining
You know if you notice the way Lucifer insults/bickers with Alastor his usual belittles or undermines Alastor. In episode 5, he calls him a bellhop and a bust boy and later when Alastor asks if he remembers him from his radio show, Lucifer- #HazbinHotelLucifer #HazbinHotelAlastor
Also just because Alastor and Lucifer bickering it is expected but there is such a thing as taking things too far and knowing Alastor’s not so fun season maybe Lucifer might say something uncalled for. Also we don’t know who who started it but it doesn’t really matter.
So to be clear I know Alastor must be quipping back, I know he’s not defenseless and I’m not just “protecting my favorite” I’m just judging by facial expressions, knowing what happened last season, and I also know this season isn’t going to fun for Alastor #HazbinHotelAlastor
