Their option/choice. They can’t complain now.
Music, Sport (especially football), cats, politics in small doses. Work in a library. No DMs. No Farage, Trump or Corbyn supporters. After being insulted, I will go with Centrist Dad/soft left. And keep away from political morons. Father of an Autistic son

Absolutely they won’t. Purists don’t cooperate with anyone.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Certainly not the same as Putin lovers Your Party.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Sad for the middle ranks. They will recruit well, and then have their best players taken again.

Agreed.

They are also full of splitters, and could easily fall apart.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Can’t see it. The Public School dominated Your Party are only interested in certain foreign policies. The Greens would be foolish to work with them IMO.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Blackburn and Wanderers. Knew that one from a pub quiz!
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Why? She has little to do with him at the best of times! Hoping that he departs?

There is plenty of patriotism to be proud of. The 2012 Olympic opening ceremony showed it. Labour just don’t have a clue how to utilise it.

To be a contrarian, a goalless draw at Anfield would have been seen as a good result. A moment of genius won it.

Yep, agree.

Football can be harsh. Ederson has been marvellous for them over the years. But that’s how the business works I guess.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
They have very different policies. Plus the Public School cadre of Your Party would not cooperate with anybody. All they care about is particular aspects of foreign policy, of their choosing.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
BTW, Labour hadn’t been in power for 14 years until last year.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
So where is any evidence of this training, by any government? Reform can shout but they wouldn’t do it either.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Speeding up the process for legal migration would at least make the right’s arguments more incomprehensible, although obviously they will keep them going, Brexit was obviously going to see many Eastern Europeans replaced by Indian people and others. But that ruins their narrative.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Yet how would the NHS, Care etc survive without migration?
Jane (@localnotail.bsky.social) reposted reply parent
always good to check the edit history on Twitter as they can sometimes be revealing What Douglas Carswell has written today is awful bad in its final form, but his original tweet was worse He's not correcting a typo "From Epping to the sea, let's make England immigrant free" just showed his hand

Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Very much so.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Because it is so poorly applied and still gets loads wrong. It is also totally inconsistent (handball etc).
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Tennis is clear cut. A lot of football decisions are subjective.

Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent

Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent

Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
TBH I can see it happening. His puppet masters are getting sick of his unpredictability. They are cool with ICE, but the economy tanking and his even more erratic behaviour will cause Thiel and co worry. Vance is more pliable. They also won’t want his coke addled son in 2028.

Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent

Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent

Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Improving the economy, housing and the NHS would be useful. The more people focus on Reform’s issues, the more attention they get.

Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
I can’t see it. FPTP will do for them. Labour will play on being safer with what you know (hopefully with some achievements!) and that will probably get them a reduced majority. Although 2029 is a long way off.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Plus the comms are absolutely appalling.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Were they really swing voters though? Sound like Corbyn fans to me. I detest Reform, but anyone with half a brain could see that Salisbury was no ‘false flag’ operation.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
People are more flexible with their voting than in the past, and going economically to the left and socially to the right (to an extent) is not a vote loser. But where are the economics to the left? People won’t necessarily switch directly to Reform (a one man band) as many seem to think.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Yep. It’s insane.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
I feel really free😀
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Although Konate and Szoboszlai were superb and Liverpool had clearly worked on nullifying Arsenal’s set pieces. They seem to have the knack of winning even when playing poorly (the Newcastle game especially).

Anything subjective shouldn’t be touched by VAR (other humans) IMO. It becomes inconsistent, petty, and annoying for everybody. Keep it for offsides. Even ‘clear and obvious errors’ seems to have lost any meaning. Plus all the angles and slow motion distort things.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Blair and Ashdown were moving towards it until Blair won a landslide. Then it quickly went away. Of course the Tories benefitted in the long run. Labour won’t go for it even if 95% of the membership wanted it, because they are deluded.
Mark Freedman (@markfreed.bsky.social) reply parent
Up Farage’s backside.
