Can anyone point me to the media story about the largest ever warship export deal ever agreed by the UK that was announced this morning? It’s worth £10bn. It will protect 4000 jobs, provide growth for up to 400 small businesses. Where is our bloody media?

Great. UK is selling more arms. How is it I am not excited about this? Could it be that I don't like war. As well as being bad for the people caught up in it, it accelerates climate change and is disruptive to the global economy. But let's all forget that and make sure media cheer this Labour "win"
I think a lot of really important people in Europe are interested in any idea how to stop the war against Ukraine without weapons. Do you have any suggestions besides "I don't like war?" Do you think it would be a good idea if GB and the states of the EU abolish their armies?
I gave my reasons: war accelerates climate change & destabilises global economy. Another thing it does is increases forced migration. USA will arm anyone. All it cares about is who pays so it is disengenous to imply that there's a dearth of weapons for Ukraine so Europe needs to step in.
If people are attacked by another country and they see any sense in resisting and have the means then they will resist and fight, even If the war poisons their soil, puts mines on their fields, gets their cities destroyed - and even If it Changes climate for the worse because they could be dead.
And I asked questions that rise from your reasons. To go further: Should the Baltic states and Poland stop having a strong military? From whom should thex buy weapons?
It's not the Baltic States or UK that are really suffering from climate change, global economic insecurity and mass migration, it's the countries near the equator so it is somewhat easier for us to see these choices as to arm ourselves as a country or not. We don't feel the harm it causes elsewhere.
Personally I have thought for some time that it is the United Nations we should be arming and they should act when countries break international law by invading another or commit genocide on an entire population, but there is not the political will for that.
That's a thought, a wish, but not a solution for some countries now. You are as helpful as some guy in a group of friends whose car has ran out of fuel and you are only saying "we should have taken the last gas Station!" instead of figuring out how to get gas now that they are in this Situation.
In your scenario I would walk back to the last gas station or phone them for assistance. Why is saying there are too many arms in the world not helpful?

The Baltic States and Poland have a more urgent problem with Putin's Russia then with climate change. I am not a climate change denier, it is a big problem, but for them Russia is more urgent, more like knocking at the front door.

I published the government press release to provide the info. It was some time later that I posted complaining of no coverage. It didn’t take any investigation. All the info was there. What precisely is your issue?
