My ancestors and my immediate family were and are quite adept at growing their own food and canning it. When you grow up removed or isolated it’s a given. And the reward is healthier better tasting food. I don’t know of one incident of it not being safe.
I really saw you shift after 9/11. I stock but not nearly as good as you I’m sure. Covid didn’t really affect me. I needed bath tissue eventually and not much else. But now I have my mother as well. Growing up we lived far from “town.”Always planned ahead. Had to. Always had a garden and canned.
