It's not a mandated subject, it's entirely optional ( assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/5a7c66...) so most places won't even mention it, so not part of the national syllabus. "Indian" I don't think most would consider a "bad" word, just oddly old-fashioned, it seems an odd choice to use

This has been a big thing in the UK for a while - childcare costs so much that it's often cheaper for someone to quit their job and stay home (and there's some bumps and jumps for not being able to get free childcare if you're over a certain household income threshold)
and pretty much *every* beauty, jewellery, craft, sewing, art, etc. etc. needs imported stuff - having your baseline costs hike up suddenly is not good for any business, and is impossible to not notice when it's such an amount

pages 81-84. The game is balanced around multiple (mostly combat-based) encounters per day, typically at least 3 (to allow short-rest classes to do stuff then short rest to regain resources, and long-rest classes to feel strain). 1-encounter days are wonky in a lot of ways, so best avoided
5e also has *so many* fights that even a small chance of death rapidly stacks up - when there's multiple notionally dangerous fights every literal day, they kinda need to be biased towards the PCs unless you want lots of dead PCs (which 5e, as a system, doesn't)

I suspect some is people not adjusting to modern prices - like going "oh, flatscreen TVs, what luxury!" when even a medium-size one costs maybe a few hundred, tops, and it's not that odd to get a hand-me-down cheap or free, so even dirt-poor people will have something that was a luxury 30+ years ago

yup, the worldbuilding gets *weird* and falls apart under any scrutiny, the bloat is obvious (as is happening with her detective series!) and a lot of the other bits have flopped to various degrees (Fantastic Beasts just kinda withered, for example).
plus a setting that's really easy to insert yourself into, the cast growing up with readers, coming out often enough to get momentum etc. it doesn't seem as super-popular with younger readers who can shotgun it down at once

yup - it's gonna be a LOT of footage. And take years to film, so expect some of the cast to literally die of old age, or the awkwardness of puberty for the young ones. Stranger Things has taken 9 years for 4 seasons, if this is similar, we're gonna have 30-year-olds playing teens!

the loop of travel rolls and checks is kinda fun to get into as well, and it's fun to let the players make a map, get a little lost and turned around, and then try to figure out how to un-fuck the map to make it match the actual geography, after they "lost the coast"
there's typically various starter sets and boxes that have a complete deck or more at (comparative) discount - still pricey, but in the range where it can be saved up for or a gift (or older sets going at discount)
Magic seems pretty deep into that - I know the core gameplay from years ago, but there's been, like... 4(?) sets this year, with all sorts of extra widgets and mechanics added, so just following what's mechanically happening gets increasingly hard!
yup - there's some value to them, with better auto-complete, improved typing etc., but there's are marginal increases, not a multi-multi-billion dollar service, bigger than smartphones! Especially as they need super-expensive upgrades to improve, rather than being one-and-done software

and even then, it doesn't matter if that looks like ass, because someone with actual skill will do the proper drawing - like I've sent draft sketches to commissioners that are literal stick-figures done in Paint, because I have no drawing skills, but that's enough for them to get the idea
and throwing it together also starts to create familiarity with the material and spark more ideas - so when it's time to move from "concept" to the more polished version, there's already knowledge there and some ideas, not starting fresh with some unknown work
when the capital sends out orders and they get ignored is generally when stuff starts to get messy - if they can't be compelled or convinced to obey, at that point you de-facto have a split country, even if it's not legally stated or acknowledged at that point
