And the reason I discovered he had a janky tooth was because I had separated them and I was sleeping in the guestroom with Spike. I woke up to this god-awful smell, thought somebody crapped in the room, and then realized it was his breath. Turns out he had feline resorption. Not even 3 years old.
Actually he lost 10 teeth a year and a half ago.

Thank you. We had a similar situation a couple of years ago when Charlie got traumatized by the Litter Robot (not injured, just freaked out by it) and started taking it out on Spike. Then Spike had to have teeth pulled, and then he smelled like hospital. It worked itself out.
Charlie looks so hurt.
He came home, but now his brother Spike doesn't recognize him because he smells like hospital, so now Spike is hissing and growling at Charlie. Today they were both on the sofa together, but Charlie was on the sofa proper and spike on the back hissing.
My cats have been fighting for nearly two months. It started out of nowhere, and the trouble seemed to be with Charlie. I had him checked out, and it turned out he had four janky teeth, so perhaps he was in pain. We had them pulled.
This is what I've thought. They weren't silent because they were scared for themselves - but their families were threatened.
When he posted about offering the 🍊🤡 a walking tour the other day, I commented, "maybe if he can do it on a golf cart." I'm probably not responsible for this but I'd like to think I might be.
