Taxes going to the supper rich don't help the economy to pay for itself. SNAP goes into the economy, all of it, as purchases which stimulates demand and contributes to jobs. The amount is then increased through the multiplier effect to equal five times the expenditure.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
During Hitler's time, things were a lot simpler. Now you have to orchestrate the Internet and schedule 24 hour news, than just burn down a building.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump, more like Jabba the Hut.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
To be expected, Trump is all about appearance and distracting the reality. Reported, we are near a conflict with Venezuela as the followup, since taking over our cities with troops isn't working creating the outrage as planned.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Odd, Trump is thinking about his mortality, too. This all could be the script for a new comic book, a cabal of immortal autocrats against the Justice League.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
What the hell is going on, is Trump the new interior decorator since Melania isn't now there often? Between golfing and handling his side hustle for business deals, doesn't leave much time left to do the job elected. He's a front man, others are running things, Trump's just a spokesman for them.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Shouldn't they have first tried to stop them, before using lethal force? International waters wide open, no place to hide. We are a civilized nation, at least before Trump and Hegseth who see this as the more expedient.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Makes sense when you're looking for low income immigrants that need to take public transportation. Then using physical appearance to decide who to question. It's why again they hang out at Home Depot when many work as contractors doing this work.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
This can easily be fixed, and yet no thought about the damage a soulless program, that's oversold, is capable of doing. Don't blame AI, blame those who rushed to market it.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Sure it's a fire from following the media about the Supreme Court decisions. They created a monster in the President by Trump. It's been years in the making, going back to Citizens United and twisted logic. Now we have the President immunity decision as the bookend to today, out of control autocrat.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Just make sure you've crossed over first.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
One has to believe, those in Trump's administration, along with Trump, are fronts for those working behind the scene putting in place a expansive detailed plan. The incompetents fronting it are incapable of such a project. They're provide excuses and given instructions for it. It's now more clear.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
There's still the Supreme Court high hurdle to pass, and that may trip her and the ruling up. The Court believes in expanded powers of the Presidency, including making mistakes with core duties without penalty. It just encourages Trump to try these stunts, and is rewriting the rules in government.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
This is all general knowledge from at least the 2008 financial crisis. What the author did is put it all in one paper. It was out there, known, but not acted on. Congress was asleep at the switch just as back in 2008 with President Bush. As always, don't look too closely when things are going well.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump a grifter, with a history of a sleazy past. Someone with this record, and four years doing it in office, he's back again, sleazier than ever. Trump attacking our cities, sending in troops, all for a distraction from the Epstein files. Every time a problem, this is going to be his go to stunt.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
This problem rest with the GOP Congress, especially Johnson and Thune. They're enabling an autocrat in office who's clearly attacking the Constitution. Why aren't they outraged with his stunt for a bill passed to be authorized. They are all in the same party and can't resolve the issue.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
This rests at Trump's feet, RFK's still in office as all is coming about his incompetence in the position. Trump is putting the nation at risk for his own benefit.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
If this was Trump with his known problems, I could understand the need to sanitize everything, but Kim, it's shows proof of his paranoia.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Four National Guard protecting a trash can in the picture. That says exactly what this stunt is all about. DC's trash cans are now safe tanks to Trump's intervention.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump lives among the loopholes. Sure his lawyers are searching for new ones all the time. What do you expect someone a convinced felon and business fraud. A sleaze all his business career, with six bankruptcies and numerous business failures. His law & order outrages are a joke. it's who he is.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
I'm not looking at the umbrella.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump's father was as bald on top as a billiard ball. Reported, Trump has scares from a scalp reduction. It's time for him to start wearing a toupee.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Typical Trump misinformation, seems to be a criteria for employment in the administration these days. The truth will get you fired. Trump's like Big Brother in Orwell's novel, 1984 his opinion is the fountain of all truth.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
It's a cultural thing which is hard to shake. It seems to have caught on with ICE, their all wearing masks and balaclavas now. I travel the subway, and see a lot more masks than a couple of months ago. As COVID gets back in the news, it should improve.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
It's clear Trump's invasion by ICE of Chicago is a stunt to distract from the Epstein files. He can't get away with it, or when feels threatened, another city will be added. Pritzker a strong governor to face off with Trump and the MAGA politicians. This is going to be a big 2026 election issue.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Palestinians don't want to relocate from their ancestral lands, just as Jews don't want to leave Israel. That is a truth both sides should recognize. What Trump is doing is perpetuating terrorism for another century. Israel with Menachem Begin tried peace with Sadat/Carter peace Accords. Try again.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
The public needs details, it's a national disgrace. We have to know the truth, and try to prevent it continuing. Trump hiding all involved just perpetuates abuse, because they got away with it. It emboldens other wealthy kleptocrats who can afford it feel safer. Blocked by law & order politicians.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
It's not normal, and the Supreme Court is in the middle with their Presidential immunity decision. It encouraged Trump, whereas he'd be sued in court now, with injunctions all over the place for exceeding authority. That authority expanded by the Court, just in time to embolden an autocrat.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Duh, Trump doesn't care, sure he was told. Instead he got his sycophants around him, lawyers, looking for loopholes to do it. He's counting on the Supreme Court to look the other way, Presidential immunity and all that. If he loses, no loss, can't be indicted for it, so why not do it.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Johnson is covering up for Trump and others in the Epstein files. It's as if he's in there, too.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Tariffs causing great harm to the nation, worth more than he says he'll make taxing Americans with tariffs. We are becoming isolated in the world, our allies are leaving us, and China is taking advantage of Trump's screw-up. In national security alone, nation's lost more than Trump is claiming.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
The incident is very FSB (KGB) like, as when Prigozhin went down in his plane. When a tall building window isn't available, Putin's FSB are creative, and it worked well before.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
A lot of what Trump does, since in office is illegal, or at least compromised. I'm sure his lawyers are now searching for a new loophole of their making.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Instead of the landscaping location, I'd recommend the toilet in the White House for the ceremonies. Giuliani must think, I've been begging Trump to help pay my court decision in defaming two election workers, and all I get is a lousy medal. I want all my stuff seized back. Thanks a lot!
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
DC is showing what others need to do as Trump expands his lock-down on States and cities with armed National Guard troops. It's all a stunt, and the people know it. This is the beginning, Trump has other outrages against our democracy in planning. It's to control a Federal national police force.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
All Trump's economy needs is a government shutdown to trigger a recession even faster. This is a time for alarmed GOP politicians over midterms to use the deadline to modify some of Trump's programs. Time is short to do it.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
RFK, has no medical background, was put in his position for Trump's poltical imperative to get reelected. His judgement, mildly put is questionable, and as with other heads, should use CDC expertise. RFK lacks credentials to make decisions for the nation based on junk science, which he's now doing.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
RFK's refusal to backup his recommendation with medical data is a tell that facts don't exist. RFK, has no medical background, was put in his position for Trump's poltical imperative to get reelected. His judgement, mildly put is questionable, and as with other heads, should use CDC expertise.

Woody Allen movie is going to be a comedy, like Charlie Chaplin's in his time.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump using his army of ICE agents, to replace the private militias used on J6. As a fascist, he knows the necessity to have such groups under his personal command. They are his Storm Troops in Germany, augmented by his plans for the National Guard. Can't count on a loyal Army when the time comes.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Making noise about what's going on with MAGA in Washington, needs loud protests from all voices. Protest against Wall Street a while ago, was massive and loud, but petered out, with no lasting effect. The protests today against authoritarian control can't allow this to happen.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump is extending his authoritarian power beyond government, as he expands controlling private enterprises. He is moving America towards State Capitalism when he, not so much government, directs businesses. I suspect this is less ideological, as a way to increase his side deals and wealth.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump's administration tearing up laws and procedures at a fast clip. The rush with DOGE was no accident. They are trying to disrupt society as fast as possible before the public wakes up and finds we've lost our democracy to an all powerful ruling elite. The pace is no accident, ahead of outrage.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Odd, Kim Jong Un stays off planes, unless essential like going to Russia. Does he know something about a risk for him flying?
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump to have a health report today on his health. Trump and his administration have lost all credibility with their propaganda all the time BS. You know it's going to be hype and short on details. Better yet, Trump can just stay in bed, or ride around in his golf cart for what we'll learn.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
So much for Trump's grand strategy. Trump is enabling China to jump ahead of the U.S., and his damage to our economy is just beginning. Thank the GOP for all this, couldn't do it without them..
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
RFK is going to beat Trump's death count during COVID from mismanagement at the rate he's going. Estimated Trump killed over two hundred thousand Americans with his bad medical calls. RFK on track to easily top that count over vaccines.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
The Supreme Court has to expedite the tariff case because of what it means to U.S. and world economies. Investment will slow down over uncertainty, and slow economies as a result. This needs a fast resolution, not their usual diddling pace. The public waiting, is the Constitution still relevant?
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump finding out the world doesn't revolve around him and the U.S. Events are all do to Trump's disastrous diplomatic moves, ignorant and doesn't listen to knowledgeable advisers. When had them were ignored. Trump's now distracted, putting interior decorating ahead of national affairs. He's a mess.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
The worst, he burst the mythology of the wisdom of the electorate. We were safe in the illusion in seeing other nation's democracies fall, it couldn't happen here. Well, Trump, the GOP, and MAGA did it.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
I thought all drugs have to prove their efficacy before there allowed on the market. That includes that they work! Trump sounds like covering for RFK BS, targeting MAGA who think that's not the case.

Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
After reading the article, what's coming out is Trump's progressing dementia where old emotions and arguments become relevant again, and realities changes not so much. He does sound more like society of the 50's of his youth.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump lives in delusions, now he's using AI to fabricate his life. Reality keeps intruding, and seen for his absurdity. People depressed retreat into themselves, role up in a blanket and lie on the couch for days.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
I suspect he's depressed, everything he touches is going to hell. The latest, his signature tariff scheme is being blown up in the courts. He lauded over other nations, used it as a weapon, and is finding out it's a dud at law. The world is laughing, enough to depress even a dictator.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
In the case of conspiracy theories, when it comes to Giuliani there is usually some truth in it. Just ask Borat.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
I'm waiting for all those FBI agents, a thousand agents estimate, who saw the files, to begin anonymously leaking snippets of their discoveries to the media. What about those who worked on the project and have since left the agency.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump now has a pattern abusing agencies for his purposes, not part of core duties. He is weaponizing the laws and his authority to subvert our government in a private vendetta against the people. For the Supreme Court, methods and practices must be considered in addressing Presidential immunity.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
I underestimated Rex Tillerson's fortitude. It must have been painful with Trump as a boss, and to deal with him, not reading your reports. Hell the last days as he question him as a loyal sycophant which he never was.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump looks like over-warmed death. He spends his time on the golf course riding around in a cart. Then evenings posting his brain farts. The rest of the time on the phone tending to his businesses and doing side deals. all this while the nation falls apart because he doesn't put in the time on it.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent

RFK has his own definition of empathy not found in the dictionary. It's others views that are like his.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump would've been a book burner in Nazi Germany. He is now in America stamping out others views by using the power of the Government. He is the low point of democracy in our political system.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Unions are the foundation of our society in modern times. They democratize work, matching more the power of large employers with that of powerless workers. It's what Kenneth Galbraith, Economist, coined as countervailing power in modern capitalism. Unions arose out of the rising power of employers.

Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Yes, about Reagan but he set in motion Trump in our future. He packaged the seed that sprung from the poorly educated into our eventuality. Reagan was the camel's nose in the tent of American demcoracy with a sales job, then furthered by another celebrity onto the scene for his use and benefit.

Yes, but the idea smacks of a real estate developer's thinking.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Not specifying all the qualifications for President in the constitution, was a great way to end up with a convicted felon and grifter. In hindsight, it took 250 years for a poltical party to use the loophole to elect a dictator, and possibly end our run.

Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
It's incredulous Trump broadcast this meeting with the public and newscasters. Clearly, he saw nothing wrong with his supplicants growling before him, as if he was Kim Jong Un. Trump is one sick character in the Oval Office, and the meeting is how dictators hold them...or else.

The Executive branch of government is attacking society and our democratic values, how to end it, and return to normalcy? All this reminds me of the resistance in France during the 40's, without the guns. The French resistance sent a defiant message to their occupiers and overlords, and the will of the French people. Today the message is for MAGA and Trump as overstepping laws and long held values of our democracy.
Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
Trump is not saying anything he hasn't said all his poltical career, and his approach to business before. It's all about being a winner, with no regard to the law, or democratic ideals. Michael_Iger (@michael-iger.bsky.social) reply parent
The argument seems like a slam dunk, but now we have to contend with a Supreme Court that leans more right than prudent, and has made several dubious decisions which has contributed to the poltical mess today. They may put State rights ahead of democratic elections, and practicality of ensuring it.
