Thank you. I think the photo effect is because the colors are very natural. The treatment itself is a little looser.
Tried to get more of the petal form in the light flower without sharpening up the edges too much. However, I did get the teeny tiny brushes out which I don’t usually do for the extreme lights. Probably done I think. #oilpainting #paulfoxton #flowerpainting #floralart #stilllife

Thanks Jerry. They’re the weakest part I feel. I really enjoyed the trees and foreground and think they work well but lost the building somewhat. Which is a shame as it was that that drew me in the first place.

Yes there are some 'incongruities'. Part of the sketch process. I was concentrating on getting good shapes and slightly lost sight of perspective.

Ha! It could be - I lived there for 7 years and know the rain well. It's actually NYC.
It's 14"x10". so fairly big for a 'sketch' but the final thing was going to be 24"x18"
