We swapped out the wreaths but no mums yet-one day this week. I love the pumpkin spice motor oil and, of all of the pumpkin stuff that I love, I wish that I liked pumpkin spice latte. You'd think my love of coffee and pumpkin spice would be the perfect marriage of flavors but alas, it's not to be.

All of this talk of trump's advanced age, ill health, and possible death has made me realize that ultimately, he'll have a state funeral and will use the Lincoln Catafalque. Disturbing. It'll be a complete farce w/ people celebrating in the streets.

I tried to schedule a COVID vaccine at Walgreens and CVS. Both have appointments available but, because I'm not 65 yet, I have to get a prescription from my PCP. I hate this government. I'm afraid to wait in case they really do yank it altogether. #COVID

Started the black sweater this week and it’s knitting up really quickly. I’ve just divided for the sleeves so now just inches of stockinette. Maybe because it’s tweed, but it’s not as hard to see the stitches in black as I thought it would be. The lighting makes it look grey. #knitting

I started boycotting them in the early '90s over their treatment of their LGBT employees. They claimed to be right for years - maybe 10 or so - and I never could get over it. Haven't eaten there since but, from what I remember, I'm not missing much.

I spent last evening designing the beginnings of a lace shawl with a silk/merino lace weight yarn. Finished just before bedtime and I can’t wait to start actually #knitting it. Will alternate between the lace shawl and the black sweater when the black yarn comes in.

I get it. I know that there have been court cases where he’s been stopped, but unfortunately that’s not the way it feels. Congress supports his batshit crazy ideas and the Supreme Court has given him unprecedented power. I have a visceral reaction every time one of his new EOs drops.

I used to know someone like this - I used to compare them to a balloon flying around aimlessly after letting it go. Lots of kinetic energy, absolutely no forward momentum or progress.
I've had a very domestic day! Made a pot of clam chowder for hub's lunches this week and made my 2nd best version of shepherd's pie which will give us at least 2 dinners this week, probably 3. Knitted between cooking steps.

The new position is going well! I've always loved my job, but this has completely re-energized me! Every day is learning something new and making the software do what I want it to do - my favorite thing 😀
Black is notoriously hard to knit with - hard to see where you may have dropped a stitch or made an error. Hard to "read" your knitting. Unless I'm knitting lace, I don't need to look at my knitting much so I'm hoping that I'm ready for black yarn!

Absolutely! I remember trying to describe it when I was going through chemo and a coworker commiserated by telling me that she stayed up too late the night before. The absolute gulf between the two levels of fatigue was too large to even try to explain.
