Something I learned about the Neocons in the Trump era: They actually believed in all that stuff about American exceptionalism and it being an example of how other countries should govern. That's more than I can say about most of the Tea Party folks, who mostly sold out their values to Trump.

Back in June, Mike and I chatted and we legitimately wondered how public opinion would swing after Los Angeles: Would it go toward Trump because of destruction of property (similar to what happened in 2020 with BLM) or against Trump for overreach. Clearly Americans don't like his deportation policy.
