Possible? - but not just as likely. Bill Barr had personal skin in the game. Trump wouldn’t have trusted any other human being to make it all disappear including Epstein himself. Garland was just a sh*tty weak AG - and he was picked by Obama. No way would he have ever seen the decades of evidence.

Garland could have inquired as to the status of any case, especially settled cases where the evidence brought becomes public information as soon as verdict is passed.

Well - we’re just talking here - garland had four years to prosecute an open and shut case of stolen national security secrets and he couldn’t do that. Plus - timelines: garland didn’t come to work until months after the Epstein stuff was collected.

I think DOJ under Biden got the word to never look back (don’t “politicize - too much “important” work to do in the here/now), and so…that’s what happened. Biden had 4 years to release the Grand Jury transcripts from the Mueller investigation and he just…punted.
