Fun fact: the security establishment could conduct an assessment or may already have on Poilievre without his participation if they have a valid reason to suspect him of foreign compromise. Those with clearance like the PM could know and not be able to tell us. #cdnpoli

There’s no logic to his refusal. He can get it and just decline to read anything. In the absence of logical reasons then the illogical must be true- that is- he knows he can’t pass it.

I had a friend who went last year during Holi and stayed after to study out in the countryside with a yogi on a working farm and he loved it.
I’d go. No problem. The areas I want to see are nowhere near the nexus of politics. Once I got through the airport and customs, etc and out into the countryside I’d be perfectly fine.
India is supposed to be a democracy and Modi is supposedly the guy they chose.
China being even worse than India in that Chinese people don’t really choose their leader.
They do because their government is hostile. The vast majority of my acquaintances are Indian, Chinese, Muslim, etc. However the comparisons are inescapable when their politicians act like trolls.
Chinese and Russian immigrants are under incredible scrutiny and suspicion all the time. Modi decided to join that party.
People emigrate for a reason. 99.99% of the time it’s completely organic and benign etc. We’d be fools now with Modi to assume 100% is harmless.
Plus we would be naive as hell now to assume everyone migrating here from India is organic migration. I’m capable of critical thinking. But I’m also not naive.

While the vast vast majority of Indian folks who come here are simply wonderful people we can’t now just assume that and be just as clear eyes as we are about other hostile nations.
We have to abandon the naive thinking that India is a benign highly populated country with a colourful culture and great food and start looking them just as critically as we do Russia and China. It’s clear their current leadership has other questionable designs. #cdnpoli
With the assassination of Sikhs on our soil plus the interference in the CPC leadership we would be naive as a country to assume ALL Indian immigration to Canada is organic at this point. With this axis, sleeper agents etc are a legit possibility. #cdnpoli

Post WW2 powers failed horribly. They turned over land, armed people for security and said- “ok you figure it out and make it work”. We should never have been talking of Israel and territories. We should have, from day one, been talking of two sovereign nations. Israel and Palestine.
From DAY ONE there should have been a secured and enforced state of Israel and a state of Palestine.
When Israel was founded, the borders in the treaties should have been enforced with two distinct recognized states using neutral forces, if required, until the region stabilized. That was a massive massive failure by the world.
Which is what the allied forces and UN should have done in the first place.
What I hopes come of this is an enforcement of a two state as originally planned and neutral peace keeping forces to maintain the boundaries and halt the cycle.
If anything comes of this latest atrocity happening in Gaza is that people are finally waking up that one side is being hyperbolically super violent and that fact is turning option against Israel in a way that’s not been seen since its founding.
The whole region has been one of violence. Even the initial displacement of Palestinians at the founding of Israel and the the ceaseless violations of the charter that created the territories as two sovereign states. It’s a cycle of violence. Cycles are only broken when one side stops.
The only practical academic use I can see for AI is the ability to glean points from multiple sources. Outside of that, I wouldn’t trust it to write a birthday card message.

Read an article today about “maplewashing” and while the consumers in it have valid complaints- I’ve got to wonder about the Albertan lady who was aghast that avocados used to make avocado oil were imported. Find me any Canadian avocado or it’s oil that ISN’T made from imports. 🤣🤣 #cdnpoli
My border collie’s sister would gather the kids who would sneak out of their rooms after bedtime and gently tug on their pj sleeves to lead them back to their bedroom. Was never trained to do it. She just knew between x and y the kids were supposed to be in room a. 🤣🤣🤣

There’s an indigenous guy I follow on TikTok who is probably one of the hardest working manual labour people in Canada I’ve ever seen. Roofing in 40C weather then drywall… he never stops. And he does it with a smile. Indigenous racism makes ZERO sense like all racism.

I fully spiralled out tonight. Sorry folks. Just under a lot of pressure and stress. My apologies.
My landlord just went off when I told him I was going to be a bit late with part of the rent. I broke down the numbers for him etc and his response was…. Well… I’m terrified right now. If he flips on me- it’s the street.
But the fighter in me says- no no no there’s always a solution to EVERY problem so obviously freezing in place isn’t an option. I legitimately need a miracle. Seriously if everyone gets one in their lifetime- I need mine right now. /end of exasperated ramble
I can’t take anymore bad news. I have nowhere to go. I feel kinda frozen and all I do know is giving up willingly is not an option because my cat depends on me. Every instinct in my body is urging to me to just turn off all the lights, freeze in place, and just let the universe do its worst.
I had to tell my landlord I’d be a bit late with September rent and it just landed like a lead brick with his response coming right on the tail of Jon’s death and I’m just so overwhelmed right now I just want to vanish. $1000 and some adverse event free month or two right now would be life changing.
The relationship with my landlord is strained because that was the large part of the money my ex absconded with and it’s only by careful negotiation and the grace of the divines I’ve been able to thread that needle to keep a very affordable place since I’ve literally NOWHERE to go otherwise.
The death of Jon is just another point of light that’s gone. My job isn’t great but it’s a job and it’s a necessary suffering and I get up and do what I need to do but I feel like someone walking on the ledge of a building with some idiot always gently nudging me off.
COVID happened and we all know how that was… but I still managed to make ground… this past year from shingles in Dec 2024, to the floods, to an emergency root canal, and lingering effects of COVID along with my major depression and one emergency with my suffocating cat .. has just drained me.
Since then that’s why I have stayed completely alone, isolated, and kept people at arms distance to restore an environment where I have complete control over what happens. I’ve made a lot of progress crawling out of that pit through sacrifice and isolation.
Fast forward- since then I have done nothing but repair the damage done. Cleaning up the identity stuff, throwing money at debts in my name… he fled to Portugal, I think, I have no clue where he is now or if he’s even alive. I don’t care.
Full disclosure: I had a very physically and emotionally abusive ex with whom I was with for three years waaay back in 2012 - he stole thousands of dollars from me that I thought was going to household bills my name was on…it wasn’t. On top of that he had used my identity for other things.
When it rains it doesn’t just pour. It’s a hurricane. I’m so sick of truly horrible people getting lucky while I’m balanced on the edge of a cliff. Where’s my rainbow and pot of gold?

Your parents know you. Your sibling. Extended family. I’ve no kids and never come close to marriage. Never will. My best friend Jon knew more about me than any single living person on earth. By a mile. From the age of 6 and onward. His death feels like a legit piece of me died.
I mean we have to email them if we go to poop or change a tampon not on our break or unpaid lunch. Even if it’s 1 minute- and we get 5. And they’re unpaid minutes.
Yes. “We sympathize with…blah blah… but you’re on a written warning” Still waiting for the results of that biopsy. But that’s my employer.
This is the same company that gave me a written warning because I went for a biopsy on a thyroid nodule.
No. Even that would be an unexcused absence. I’d lose my job or at least the income.
I can’t afford to send flowers. I can’t afford a trip back to NB to be with his dad. I can’t even take a day off work for his death without a “unauthorized absence” because he’s “just a friend” so I have 12 hours to get my s*it together and carry on like it never happened.
I feel…. numb. Like- nothing. Just numbness. Almost catatonic.
I survived the nightmare that was bullying in school literally because of him and his unbreakable friendship. I never did sleepovers except with him. His house was my second home.
