What I love best about design is the freedom. I didn't go to school. I don't know what's good or bad or what I'm "supposed" to do. I just do it. And people dig it. No better feeling. Lesson? Just Do The Thing, it's the 1st step most people never take.

I love Parente, and the story setting of the Invasion printing. But on the Weatherlight one the warm orange pops so hard, that beekeeper helmet is so strange, the patterns on the dress are so beautiful.

This resonates so much with me. My favorite suboptimal deck is WB Clerics with the vorthos restriction that cards must reference the fantasy religions of Magic and I often win by being the last to be targeted because turns 2 and 3 were casting a Samite Healer into an Orim, Samite Healer. 🤓

I love John Lee Hooker, and love his song “Boom Boom”. The whole movie is a love letter to Chicago, but this scene is in particular, showing the hustle and bustle, the street vendors, the centrality of music to the city as a character in the movie. Might be my favorite scene in Blues Brothers.
