In fact, virtually none of them. Okay, Andy Jackson, but otherwise...
I love travel, food, good story-telling, and empathy. I also have a huge man-crush on the rule of law. I run a company that does business phone, video conferencing, and contact centers especially for local governments. www.vertical.com

Yep, moving from Colorado to Alabama is such a smart move. Think of how much easier it will be to attract talent with Alabama's quality of life compared to Colorado...hold on, I'm being given some new information.

Oh, I can fully endorse that. I loved that movie, but I don't see how you could ever remake it. For one thing, it's not very good.

Are they rebooting Bedknobs and Broomsticks? Cause that's not a great idea.

Might be too boring, but I'd ask their favorite historical book. See where they are coming from.

Ohhh, so sorry. My past self empathizes immensely with you (present self doesn't want to remember back pain).

I'm just wondering what DOD sign vendor donated a couple of million to Trump. Also, have they considered at all that every DoD reference will now be DoW. Every move will influence the stock market.
Kevin Butler (@milesnaismith.bsky.social) reply parent
On items we own, we list the Tariff line item on the customer invoice(though keeping track is a bitch). The real problem is items from other vendors. We try and keep track of what pricing changes the make, but most of the changes are just embedded into their list price.

We love to watch them every morning. Sometimes, their fishing technique makes me wonder how they get in shape for winter. Some of them are SO bad. www.youtube.com/live/73-Eekd...

I understand. I never did anything about Mr. Woodchipper either. I just fumed a lot.
Kevin Butler (@milesnaismith.bsky.social) reply parent
Are you SURE it isn't the one down the hall?
Kevin Butler (@milesnaismith.bsky.social) reply parent
Oof, that's pretty brutal. I suggest getting up one morning at 6 and knocking aggressively on his door and ask to borrow something (his mower would be ironic). I once had a neighbor start taking down a tree and putting it through a wood chipper at 8 am. I never forgave them.
Kevin Butler (@milesnaismith.bsky.social) reply parent
I do wonder if all the crap Lee got, early on, for digging in constantly and fighting defensively made him more aggressive in his later decision-making.

Firing people sucks, even when they deserve it. Sorry. You have to hire carefully to get the ones who do right. It's really hard and I don't think it be done at scale.

There's a reason we call all infantry, crunchies. And if I'm buttoned up, there's nothing a zombie could do to the tank crew (or Bradleys, or even 113s). Also, as an aside no Military communications net works anything like how Brooks had it working in the book.
Kevin Butler (@milesnaismith.bsky.social) reply parent
There are MANY problems with the Battle of Yonkers. My personal problem is that he insists tanks were worthless because they only had sabot rounds to fight with. As if flechette ammo doesn't exist. Much less the coax machine gun with 12,000 ready rounds. And a tank can carry a lot more ammo.

I think caring requires successes for those already engaged. For others the problem is that we need to completely overturn their information ecosystem. They aren't hearing the same story. That's hard.

Easiest way to understand this is to read Gen. Smedley Butler's War Is A Racket. Butler participated in most of the Banana Wars (as well as fighting in China). War is a Racket is his speech turned pamphlet about the Marine Corps becoming the tools of American Business.
