As a movie the dialogue was little clunky, the action scenes somewhat lacking and the effects ordinary. As a story - fan-bloody-tastic - this is Superman as he *should* be. The emotional uncertainty coupled with moral/ethical absolute-ism is the absolute core of the Superman mythos.

The part of the bible that deals with "Christian" values is the New Testament. Only reciting the Old Testament is not an indicator of a Christian person.

You are assuming that guns are not common and ONLY Merry and Pippen have one. In reality - if Guns exist at all, then everyone has one and the death toll increases exponentially for every group.

I don't disagree. Following the same Greek roots. Niarism is 'care' or 'interest'. While the nature of belief is fascinating, the existence, or otherwise, of God is boring (to me)

MY belief is the question. I live in a society where others have many different beliefs, both religious & other - that is my context. But it is not dependent on reality of a god (or gods) & is the same irrespective of my belief. If *I* act the same whether I believe or not, belief is irrelevant.

Are we still talking about the USA? One of the richest countries in the world during the most prosperous eras in history. If there is scarcity - or a belief of scarcity - then it is a not a problem with public perception, not reality. Which is, of course, what we have been saying in this thread.

Not so sure about scarcity - yes the *perceived* danger. It is cultural since it is only (mostly?) American. Hence it is likely historical. Since the US story is about escape from persecution, it would make sense that there is a deep underlying fear within the national psyche.

Its fairly basic, and a cultural issue (obviously) - Americans, for some reason, are scared. A gun makes one *feel* safer (although not actually safer). The question is then, why are so many people in that particular country so afraid so much of the time?

Genetic males are *stronger* than genetic females. The rest is cannot be assumed. Women tend to have (much) higher endurance and higher pain thresholds than men. That would imply that trans-men would be better at e.g. marathons or triathlons. But that could contravene MALE assumptions.
