Woke up still sort of shaken by the Phantom Pain prologue. Waking up from a coma in a hospital thatās invaded by people trying to murder you, and systematically hunting down all witnesses, while youāre helpless to use your own body. Itās a complete nightmare.

Revisited the opening hours of Phantom Pain and this prologue is incredible - youāre so vulnerable as you confront harrowing, relentless violence. A deeply unpleasant and gripping thing.

Yeah I'm primarily back to buying physical games, and I mostly just play single-player JRPGs, so I'm gonna cut it loose for a while and see how we do!
Game Pass is similarly frustrating in its price -- but I can continue my console saves on PC, and get first-party games on day one without spending an additional $90 every time they launch. I love the modern entertainment era, but EVERY company monetizing us every month is getting dispiriting.
I like PS+ a lot. Great library, monthly games, classics -- there's value there, and tiers so you can get what you want for variable cost. But good god. There are dozens of subscription options available to us all and $100-250 to play my $800 console is getting pretty outta hand.

With all the renewed talk regarding Snake Eater thanks to the release of Metal Gear Solid Delta, I would like to take this opportunity to recommend everyone watch the movie that was perhaps the most influential to MGS3 being the way it is. Rambo: First Blood Part 2. No seriously, watch/rewatch that.
Snake Eater is such a cool game, structurally. A disastrous sneaking mission followed by a successful boss gauntlet before a huge facility infil that clearly inspired Ground Zeroes. So much of Snakeās mission goes very wrong for reasons out of his control, so itās always pivoting to new missions

Itās scratches my MOBA itch but itās made for normies. Itās loop is so simple and silly and fun, but thereās a real depth that can suck you in. Years on I am still motivated to dig deeper on the mechanics and stratagems. They shake up team fight tactics in endless ways. Beautiful game

You can start Ys games at basically any entry! Ys 8 is a fantastic one to start with. There's a consistent protagonist in a shared world, but even the series is out of order. Adol's story is told over time, his age changes, but even the games are completely out of order Pick what appeals to you!

Play Lacrimosa of Dana ā itās one of the greatest RPGs Iāve ever played. Aura is so right about the scale and sense of space, plus itās just an incredibly focused action game with wonderful progression and exploration across the deserted* island. Easily my favorite game in the Ys series ā„ļø
