Its a shame MGSVs dev process was so messy. But the ending is some brilliant ass MGS 2 shit. And they managed to out do so many other open world games by making a character who wasnt just a simple shooter.

Please stop posting these because you're going to make me replay MGSV just STOP (Don't stop I love this game)
Great news I’m just playing this for the rest of my life
Your thread made me go back and play a few missions this week
Heading to Afghanistan.
I sometimes can’t believe this is real — the 1998 Metal Gear Solid altered the atomic structure of my brain, and I never could have fathomed how far it would come. Phantom Pain is radically different but scratches all my MGS itches. I can’t and won’t stop gushing.
The only shame was that metal gear online didn't really vibe as well. Loved MGSV though.
I always felt like MGSV was the series apex, but it landed so off kilter because of things outside the game, at Konami, etc. The game itself is brilliant.
Traitors’ Caravan is somehow even worse than I remember, but it’s defeated and now I weirdly want to try it again another way. Until then, it’s endless Side Ops and online challenges. Outer Heaven ain’t gonna build itself.
This was and still is my least favorite mission. I recently just went through it again (like last week) and threw on the stupid chicken hat just to be able to walk through it.
Yeah it’s the worst, the only truly low point of an otherwise enormous and extraordinary experience. I think that’s why it stands out so much to many players.
I've tried to go back to do a replay of Phantom Pain a couple of times, but all of the 2015 Service Game cruft that encrusts it deters me each time. How has the experience of getting through that been for you?
I am 35h deep and on my second playthrough and have literally zero idea what this is in reference to.
Logging into the game gives you eight million pop ups about how your base got invaded since the last time you logged in and there are like 3 different Konami service agreements you have to wade through, ect. (I should probably just play it on PC with a clean save instead of going back to PS)
I did the agreements but they were a one and done. Online stuff has no impact on my exp at all so far. I believe that’s quite late game and I dunno, I’m always Fulton’ing enough dudes on ops that it’ll make up for anyone I lose on deployments or multiplayer raids. Can’t recall if you can opt out
But you can certainly just play off-line. You can disconnect or reconnect from the pause menu at any time, so that should solve any online grief.
You scare me. In the time it took me to beat dark ages, you’ve beaten two metal gears. And now you’re making me want to follow your lead…
hahaha to be fair i'm maybe halfway in Phantom Pain. But I've also played it 2x as long as Delta soooooooooo you're not wrong. JOIN MEEEE
