Superb question. In my earlier youth my weekend trip was pigeon lake. It was a beautiful clean, cool lake. At the time ag was small in the area. As the years passed it grew, pressure for yield grew. Now? Between climate change and leeching fertilizer it’s a disaster. (Along with most other AB lakes)
