I am extraordinarily grumpy tonight.
Trying to play catch-up on my calories and gave myself a tummy ache. I would love it if I could stop forcing errors in my body.

This news is going to send me into a spiral. (I have stage 4 cervical cancer, partially because of my apprehension about Pap smears after my first one was both painful AND humiliating.)
Estimate to do EVERYTHING I want to our den to turn it into a bedroom came in just over my layman’s estimate. Now to wait and see if my cancer is responding to treatment.

Would love to be rid of this headache but I can’t take anything for it because of medical reasons so I’m just trying the hydrate and caffeinate route.
Contractor coming in half an hour and I’m still wiped from the little bit of work I did. Guess spouse will have to do all the talking.
This seems to have been almost wholly caused by my spouse’s gaming computer and my inability to recognize that I’m getting overheated. Apparently the video game they were playing was overheating the computer which was right next to me.
It’s stage 4 so I’m pretty sure I won’t get that far, but thank you for the inspiration.
I really need to set up a better email signature on my phone…
It makes me wonder why I’m even bothering to fight my cancer.
I can do work as long as I don’t move which I guess I can work around so I don’t have to take more sick time, but it’s definitely not as productive as I could be.
I feel like my cat is judging me for not getting more work done.
Stomachache still here but slowly starting to resolve as I check my email and find out I’m on yet another committee??? Heaven help me.
Continuously count my blessings that when we hit a deer, it went under the car instead of over. We were on the interstate, the whole family would have been killed, I’m sure of it.
Somebody tell my body to act right because I don’t have time for these shenanigans.
Power chair approved! But my husband is too overwhelmed with life to celebrate with me.
Quietly working on a conference proposal for the rest of the afternoon and hoping I have more energy tomorrow, ugh.
Last time I had jury duty they accepted the most ridiculous note from my doctor (it was legit; I’d just gotten out of physical therapy inpatient treatment, but the details were severely lacking.) Basically it said “I’m her doctor and I say she can’t go.” Except in doctor jargon.
Fixing problems this morning ... or trying to, at least.
Also it’s 8 am and I’ve already been defeated by autocorrect on a work email. Fuck.
I was going to do something work related this morning before my outpatient procedure but after this weekend I can’t remember what it was. Damn.
Back to school airing of grievances would have been more helpful on Friday…

New school principal is still calling from his old office number and using an automated voice. This is weird. If I was healthy I’d have met him by now but I couldn’t get to the meet and greet before school started.
Feeling more miserable today than yesterday because of my stomach and anxiety. I’ve got an outpatient procedure scheduled tomorrow and last time it took 3 hours longer than expected….
Not much choice in small town Kentucky unfortunately. They were the only ones who would do something other than barbecue! The food was okay but they were probably the worst part of my wedding day. (My photographer not listening to me being a close second.)
When it came to my caterers, I had 35 guests, they forced me to plan/pay for 50, and they still ran out of appetizers…. But then I had more than 15 extra servings of dinner shoved in my fridge the next day. It was weird how uneven their planning was.

Did one of the small tasks but it took way more effort than I expected, ugh.
I have managed to stay awake two and a half hours straight! At this rate, I might actually get one of my two tiny tasks done. I also paid the only two bills that aren’t on autopay. So today has not been a waste.
Mild panic at thinking one of my daughter's birthday presents went out of stock but it was just a glitch on my phone.
Managed to sit up for more than 10 minutes to take this supplement that gives me acid reflux if I lay down too soon. I think this is progress but I'm still exhausted.
Accidentally napped again and then ate some lunch. Sushi!
Food, water, medicine achieved. Chilling on the couch and hoping for some energy today. I’m not expecting much but hopefully more than yesterday.
Still sore, a little less tired today. Need to put water and food and medicine in my tummy. Not looking forward to that.

Baby girl is doing a third activity for her patch - indoor camping! I suspect she’ll move to the couch or upstairs to bed before the end of the night, but it still counts 😂
Ate some dinner. Not enough but at least it was real food and not snacks.

As someone actively trying to gain weight for her health (lost a lot of weight to cancer, which I’m still fighting) the obsession is really upsetting.
Still down for the count but kiddo completed 2 more activities for her Girl Scout patch with a minor assist from Dad.
I can’t decide if my kid is being extra today, if it’s just the difference between a school day and a weekend, or if I’m feeling even worse than I think.
The Saturday after chemo: still the worst.
Lectured about the Wallflower plug in by my 9 year old because it was empty and my husband hasn’t changed it out and I’m in no shape to do it myself. Can’t reach the cabinet and I’m not feeling great anyway. Can’t I get a little grace?
I am so frustrated at my fellow librarians embracing ChatGPT. I hope they at least checked to make sure none of the suggestions were hallucinations. 🤦🏻♀️
I’m the exact opposite. I go crazy at the thought of eating repetitive meals but I haven’t been able to cook in months (spouse is doing the cooking) because of an illness.
Hey does anyone know if there are like… catnip infused pillows for cats to scratch? One of my cats scratches (not kneading! Scratching!) EVERY SINGLE BED IN THIS HOUSE. Doesn’t do it to the couches, so I think it’s the feel of the linen?

I finally got a blood pressure reading that was normal after a glass of water and a glass of iced tea and part of a sandwich. But I still just want to lay in bed all day.
Goal for the long weekend: do 6-8 activities with my daughter for this Girl Scout badge that will earn her 3 additional badges in the process. (Girl Scouts Love the Outdoors Challenge 2025, Girl Scouts Love State Parks, Girl Scout Tree Promise, Girl Scout Climate Challenge.)

I don’t think he’s dead but from what I gather the rumor started on Twitter because he hasn’t been seen for a few days and his whole weekend schedule is cleared. Which is weird behavior for someone so bombastic but not proof of death.

Slowly but surely getting this birthday expense list to something approximating "normal". It helped that something unexpectedly went out of stock today. Don't get me wrong, I'm still spending way too much, but it's been a rough year. She deserves it.
Therapy was exactly the trash day I thought it was gonna be given it’s a chemo week, but I survived.
Physical therapy day. I hate it. Especially when they have to schedule me in the morning. Scrambling to make sure I’m fed and hydrated and medicated makes me anxious.
We finally ditched our year-round gingerbread tie fighter after several years of cat destruction and humans tripping over it. But I think I’m gonna buy a Halloween one if I find one I like.
Last skeet of the night. Actually ready for bed at a good time. Hopefully the medicine that makes me drowsy will finish the job and I’ll be in sleepland soon.
Too much sugar and not enough protein but I managed to eat enough that I won’t lose weight today… some days that’s all I can ask.
I want my yarn! …. My husband is picking up my order tomorrow. Didn’t get to it today.
Also due to my poor planning/not keeping track of promises, more than half her gifts will be American Girl stuff unless her dad manages to find some more gifts when they go shopping (I will not have my power chair in time to tag along.)
I really hope this seller accepts my offer because I did not have space themed birthday on my bingo card this year and now I am SCRAMBLING to get at least one space themed toy.
Turns out I needed more calories. Husband brought me ice cream after they picked up kiddo from school. Not the healthiest, but it was a banana split, so there was fruit!
I was up at 7 am checking my email today AND I didn’t take a proper lunch so excuse me if I just turn my email notifications on my phone and chill out away from the computer for a bit 💀
Thank you! I'm tolerating a fairly tough course of chemo pretty well right now, so I'm hopeful I'll be around for a while, but it's ultimately not curable.
Mine is aggressive (but hopefully can at least be stabilized for a while) and I "treated" myself to $800 worth of takeout food before I got a grip.🫠

I am in the wrong retirement plan and I'm stuck and I'm so pissed.
Anecdotal but I miss my work mentor more than my father or my grandma and the biggest difference I see is that my mentor has a memorial Facebook and was also in a few of my wedding photos (I don't have photos of my dad or grandma), so maybe you're on to something?
I actually don't have any pictures of my father and he died in 1997. Mom destroyed them all because he was an asshole.
Haven't taken my anxiety meds and my kid and husband just left the house without saying goodbye/ i love you. Cue the anxiety....

I’m getting a power chair to help my mobility. Luckily I have my husband but they’re not a great cook (I was always the cook). I mostly order out when my appetite/tastebuds are being weird and I have to scroll DoorDash for something that looks good. Saturday I sent my husband out for pie!
I got diagnosed with cancer and lost weight and my doc was worried so between that and the news I started ordering in a ton. I think I have mostly gotten it under control but my bank account was crying for 6 weeks.
Sooo one of my anti-anxiety meds might have been controlling my ADHD (.... see how many skeets I've posted today? This is bad even for me.) It wasn't doing shit for my anxiety so my psychiatrist took me off it.
10 more tasks for this Girl Scout patch that I'm gonna end up paying for because her troop leader cannot be trusted.
Ordered yarn for my "worry blanket". It's colors are for my cancer ribbon! (teal and white)
For the curious, we are having a sleepover with just one friend. Space themed. Pizza & cake, messing around with the 3D printer, and then the girls chilling in the den for the night. Birthday girl has requested iridescent door fringe for privacy, and a balloon bouquet just for fun.
Didn't plan on planning my daughter's birthday party today, but here we are.
On the bright side, I should be able to replace the savings money I had to spend on a SURPRISE BILL by mid-October. I've been doing my bill plan numbers a couple months ahead because I spend like money isn't real September-December 💀 2 birthdays, spooky season, Christmas... It adds up!
I love hate this injection I get every three weeks. It makes me feel great the day I get it but in two days I'm going to be suddenly sore as fuck. And I have physical therapy in two days (this is an unfortunate glitch this week.)
