I have a confession to make... I've never played hollow knight and I very much love metroidvanias. I barely started Dead Cells this year and I still have a handful of others in the backlog. Street Fighter locked me in good but I think I'll at least pick both of them up and possibly start next year.

I played the original on snes when I was a kid. I'm pretty sure I played after playing Zelda LttP and wanted something similar to it and I rented this on a whim and bought it shortly thereafter.
I'm going with a less obvious choice but it is seriously time for Capcom to dig into their old IP and bring back Breath of Fire.

I only ever did a black eagles run, I remember i started on blue lions but my attention went elsewhere after maybe 10 hours into that one because I had just grinded that game hard and I needed something different. It at least made me curious and appreciate persona type games more.

We need to see more widespread use of engines like ID Tech and Decima I get that the prolific use of UE means you have a lot of "pre trained" Devs and I can see it's appeal for smaller teams But it's performance is so often sub par with both consoles and PC seeing unique issues
iD tech is the surprising one. That engine seems so powerful and either the devs know their engine very well or it is a beast of optimization. Doom 2016 and eternal looking as good as they did with a rock solid 60 on an xbox vcr felt like pure witchcraft.

I don't know why I'm thinking about this right now but BF6 is kind of reminding me of how Medal of Honor 2010 felt and that's not a bad thing. The multiplayer on that game was flames.
