I think I understand why #NewBedford city government is immune to and fails to address the constant stench of sewer in the city; They never come down off of the hill that downtown is built on. Maybe if they got out of their cars and walked around the city they work for and serve they would notice.

Do you know how much police officers make per hour? Now extrapolate that to the number of officers standing at each station. It's way more than the amount of fares collected. They could be doing something else, instead they're there to justify increasing the budget. Totally unnecessary.

It costs money to install fare gates. It costs uber money to police said fare gates, more than the fares that would have been collected. This leads to an increase in police budgets, at a time when crime rates are declining. Fares make up only a small portion of the budget.
