Yes, I meant their style is fringe & most Americans disagree with it... It's why their ideas like Project 2025 are unpopular, bc People disagree with it. They rail against the mainstream (majority of Americans) bc they're contrarian to the mainstream American views, imo.
M (@msderohanes.bsky.social) reply parent
It's interesting how they don't understand that they are just contrarians and they think they're anti-establishment... So much damage is being done so unnecessarily.
M (@msderohanes.bsky.social) reply parent
That sounds like the same reason that made Trump pick RFK Jr to head HHS or when he picked Matt Gaetz to head DOJ.
M (@msderohanes.bsky.social) reply parent
Yes, that's true. My point was that we need to enact the reforms as soon as possible to ensure this won't happen again in the future. When there is an overwhelming majority, there will also be public support for accountability even within the available mechanism. bsky.app/profile/msde...
M (@msderohanes.bsky.social) reply parent
I don't think it requires radically changing the system, but it will need winning an overwhelming majority, not a squeaker. Then, you could have a comfortable voting margin in Congress to enact the necessary reforms to keep this Country safe & stable, like Congress did after Watergate.
M (@msderohanes.bsky.social) reply parent

In the 1970s, we enacted strong reforms, bc we had a majority of both parties in agreement that what the president did was an abuse of power & Congress needed to protect the Republic from. In 2020s, half of Congress made excuses for it and tried to normalize it, so the reforms were not possible.

Also, military troops are not fire fighters, they do combat at war. So, unless the DHS spokesperson is expecting a whole bunch of enemy combatants to suddenly show up in DC to fight a war, the "fire fighters / fire" metaphor does not apply here.

So, to recap, the President's stated reason to deploy the National Guard troops to Chicago is to police crime. So don't be confused about the "official reason" when you hear his spokespersons claim it's for immigration. bc that is not what the President of the United States is saying over & over.

The best thing that's going on for our Country now is all these Senators & Congressmen criss-crossing the Country talking to People about their concerns. Especially since the "news" media doesn't invite them to speak, they're going directly to speak to People.
M (@msderohanes.bsky.social) reply parent
Honestly idk, I was just responding to the comment... I am concerned about our Country's future, & rn Democrats are the only party that believes in keeping the American experiment alive. In 2024, millions of People eligible to vote didn't register or vote, reach these People & get them to VOTE!
M (@msderohanes.bsky.social) reply parent
I'm not saying he's not doing anything. I'm sure he's working hard... I'm saying he's not meeting the challenge & the generational opportunity Democrats have right now to save Democracy... Maybe he needs to hire different people or different ideas, idk.

M (@msderohanes.bsky.social) reply parent
He is ineffective, fundraising & voter registration are down, Rs who are running w a dictator have a bit more approval than his members. Now perhaps it takes time to build momentum, but if I were he, I'd be pitching a tent next to each military checkpoint & start registering voters & volunteers rn.
M (@msderohanes.bsky.social) reply parent
I'm not embarrassed by it. I made a good assessment of what a DNC chairman should be doing! & Thankfully, turned out it's exactly what they're doing! It's just that they don't have the communications figured out yet to let all of everyone know that they're doing the things they need to do to win.
M (@msderohanes.bsky.social) reply parent
Admittedly, I don't look at the DNC socials, I follow you for their news & updates... But I'm thinking all the People out there in Country who don't follow the DNC wouldn't know that either. Perhaps a more aggressive PR would be useful to get the "news" media's attention, & in turn, the People's.

M (@msderohanes.bsky.social) reply parent
Good to know. Thank you for sharing!
M (@msderohanes.bsky.social) reply parent
Idk, either. The "news" media doesn't report such things to People, so People who aren't on the DNC mailing list wouldn't know this. DNC needs sales People. It's great that he's doing this. Any progress? Increased voter registration would be the metric to measure success, short of election results.
M (@msderohanes.bsky.social) reply parent
A 50 state strategy where he figures out how to raise enough money to build the Democratic party in all 50 states & challenge Rs in every conceivable election. There's a general sentiment in the country similar to 2010, but now against Rs. He needs to capitalize on it, everywhere to save Democracy.

Ken is an ineffective leader who's overwhelmed by the gravity of this moment. He could've been a spectacular leader 10 or even 5 years ago, but he's not cut out for this fight, imo. The party establishment voted for him to be DNC chair, not the other way around. Same People who kicked out his #2.
M (@msderohanes.bsky.social) reply parent
New Deal policies are no socialism, no matter who says so. Promoting the General Welfare of the People was one of 6 main reasons this Country was established, as the preamble explains. Often overlooked, the Preamble is a mission statement that explains *why* we even have a Constitution & a Country.

People are often surprised to learn that Lee was an officer who never made it past colonel. The purported promotion to general was awarded by a treasonous cabal calling itself the "confederate states of america" which was put down by force by the Union army, which also had superior generals.

I guess, no different than how we would recognize any other foreign country's military officer's titles. But, according to American standards, he didn't make it to general before he joined the confederacy & became an enemy combatant to the United States.
