Reverse knitting is knitting from left to right. (Working yarn on the farthest left stitch). Reverse stockinette is all purls on the RS and all knits on the WS. If you flip it to the WS it looks like stockinette. 1
I have. However gauge and tape will change with blocking so now I prefer to block it first so I’m sure my weaving won’t show.

This is simply not true. 20% -40% of people with PD develop mild cognitive impairment which by definition doesn’t include memory loss and hallucinations. What you’re describing is far more likely to happen 20 years post Dx. Not 3 years. And some remain sharp as ever until the end.

I would try an LYS if you have one near you. At least in the USA fabric shops have either the most basic ugly boring cheap buttons or are ridiculously expensive for two buttons.

I see. It’s in the round. So a trick I use is the attach a row counter to a safety pin and use that as my BORM. It’s right there to be advanced before I begin the next row.
Do you put a marker designating the RS in your work ?
The stitches face different directions w different techniques which is why one row looks closed and the next row looks open. If it doesn’t bother you leave it. But I think any improvement you might get with steaming will be temporary.
