I'm not sure why they're having overflow problems at lunch. Students can walk to the UC at UNO or leave campus for lunch as long as parents sign a permission slip. I can't remember if freshman can leave but I know upper grades can. My son & his friends would walk to Burger King, Wendy's, Popeyes.

I took a little summer break but now I'm back at work. I'm working on a sci-fi graphic novel that's part of a classroom set [grade 6 ; astronomy unit]. I have never written sci-fi before but I'm super excited! Next up: I have a graphic novel about Lewis & Clark coming out in Jan. #KidLitChat
This has been a problem for awhile. My son graduated from Franklin in 2019. During his junior & senior year they used UNO's education buidiing for some classes & finals.
I'm writing about therapeutic hypothermia. After a traumatic birth, this 72-hour treatment lowers the infant's core body temperature to slow/stop potential brain injury. Interested in talking to any parents/families who've gone through this.

My son's first Black male teacher was his band teacher in 4th grade. That was it until high school.
Basically, it's a mix of crumbled cornbread w/sauteed veggies like onions, celery, flavored w/chicken or turkey broth, herbs [sage, thyme, etc.], then baked in the oven. In my family we add chopped chicken gizzards to the mix. I'm a good cook BUT my sister makes THEE best dressing I've ever had!
There are different variations, w/recipes handed down from generation to generation. So, Black folks are most likely to make their dressing the same way their granny & mama made it.
