Basically, it's a mix of crumbled cornbread w/sauteed veggies like onions, celery, flavored w/chicken or turkey broth, herbs [sage, thyme, etc.], then baked in the oven. In my family we add chopped chicken gizzards to the mix. I'm a good cook BUT my sister makes THEE best dressing I've ever had!

This sounds SO good. I've gotta find some decent cornbread that crumbles. When I make cornbread, it's too buttery and delicious to leave any crumbles.

This is one time when overcooking (so it's dry) is okay. Also, day-old cornbread works because it will most likely dry out a little.
