Ok. I remember that now. It can (and does) go up 5% a year or the rate of inflation whichever is less until the house is sold and then it jumps. Is that how California works too?

I know. I was very lucky. I did not think so at the time when I was trying to pay my bills but I know I would never been able to go to college in today’s world. My kids didn’t go to college and my grandkids are not either.
The cost for college (and everything else) is fucking ridiculous. I don’t know how anyone can attend college anymore. It should be free just like healthcare.
I graduated high school in 74 but did not attend college until 1983. I married and had a couple kids first.
I paid just under 10k for a two year degree. My first job out of college paid 5 something an hour, a few months later I got a job in my field (electronic engineering) that paid $6 an hour. It took me over 10 years to pay off my loans.
We got free college? Someone forgot to tell me and my sister that it was free so we just paid. .

I work in a very small tourist town in West Michigan and this was their March today. A lady coming out of my store as they were going by said “Well, I wonder who made all their signs? Someone is paying for all those signs” Good FN grief.
This kind of reminds me of when I was told as a teenager to never trust anyone over 30. I didn’t, but I was wrong about some of them.
