The option is getting rid of them, which is what I just said. There is no excuse - trans rights are a fundamental progressive issue, and a party that ignores them isn't progressive. You're telling trans people their rights don't matter to you.
Hand-wringing and saying 'they will always be with us' is no substitute for actually getting rid of them and reassuring a significant group of people at the same time. I don't vote for parties that tolerate transphobia.

At school, my most inspiring teachers had all worked in other jobs first - at the time I told myself to consider teaching at 40. At 40 (in a technology career) , I did think about it, decided I should, but for many reasons I didn't want to. Could ppl like me teach one day a week, stay in job?
