We used to queue up for movie theatre seats and sit in front of a blank screen for up to half an hour. Sometimes a radio station was piped into the room. No trivia. No interviews. No ads. And long-ass previews. We filled the time by fencing each other with the free magazines they used to hand out.
It's the roaches that freaked me out. I've only seen the little German cockroaches running around Toronto, not the chunky American boys that are four times the size. Given global warming, I'm sure it's only a matter of time before they make themselves comfortable here. 🫠

Both trains were out of order for a few seasons because they require very specialized parts, and I thought we'd never see them again. But one of them is back! I appreciate commitment to preserving old amusement park shit.
Centreville has a really unique vibe for any amusement park I've been to since it doesn't cost anything to just go in and hang out. It also feels the same way it did when I was a kid, and somehow hasn't dissolved into broken trash like, say, Woodbine.
