I can see why that’s a narrative that some people can believe in, but Thiel and his ilk are leaders in this transition. The problem isn’t that the sons of coal miners aren’t in tech, it’s that America has degraded into a place where the model doesn’t work for half the country, and the rich exploit it

It’s not really a test. A lot of people in Israel think it’s horrible as it is. The people who don’t probably have all sorts of ways of convincing themselves that doing something awful is okay.

I do think it’s vile what Netanyahu is doing, and I don’t think it’s useful to argue today over whether it’s genocide or ethnic cleansing or whatever. That’s an argument we can have once it’s stopped. Let’s just everyone agree it needs to stop now.

I think it less undermines taxation than it just directly enables criminality. Legitimate transactions using blockchain currencies tend to require a trusted and _auditable_ intermediary, to ensure compliance/delivery. The Hebrew Bible is mostly folk tales and traditions of what became the Jewish people. What we believe Jesus said was both in keeping with Judaism and was said as a Jew. The problem that the Hebrew Bible presents is when Christians, who very often don’t understand it, try to cherry pick from it

Wait, wait, wait, it’s from the Hebrew Bible and is just a few of the full 613 mitzvot contained therein.
