I can drop a few screenshots because finding the links in a sea of thousands of videos and reply comments across at least 4 platforms is a bit beyond me right now. TL is pretty explicit now, though, that the real concern is with the source of the money.

And full-disclosure: I’m also an influencer and I’m not Chorus-sponsored but I have friends who are. /ps
Neil ‘Professor Neil’ Shyminsky (@neilshyminsky.bsky.social) reply parent
I think there’s also an important conversation to have about how money can influence an influencer, even if it comes with no strings attached. But the media ethics framing is not the correct one because the venn diagram of journalists, PR, and influencers is definitely not a perfect circle. /end
Neil ‘Professor Neil’ Shyminsky (@neilshyminsky.bsky.social) reply parent
Now the larger point about money in politics and billionaires bankrolling influencers and covering their tracks so no one knows who they are - even the influencers? Yeah, that’s bad. But TL has walked back or softened all of the strongest, specific accusations about control, censorship & secrecy /2
Neil ‘Professor Neil’ Shyminsky (@neilshyminsky.bsky.social)
JFC, you’d think that anyone this concerned would actually be following along: -Chorus didn’t dictate anything, which Lorenz admits in the deluge of clarifications -they also didn’t place any limits *other than* to avoid suggesting Chorus endorsed a politician, which TL also acknowledges /1
