Almost... But not quite... The tariffs are to make the internal products more appealing, but they increase prices. Imagine a Chinese product is 100, and a domestic one 130. You have to artificially increase the 100 to 150, but EVERYONE will have to pay 130, so 30% increase across the board. Simple!
