Terranigma!! A game I have never finished but boot up in an emulator with SURPRISING frequency just to behold the majesty of its opening sequence. The crescendo of the title theme! I am forever smitten.

Original MGS is one of the better uses of the PSX to create stylized visuals -- it's not Vagrant Story, but it's batting in the same ballpark.

I thought this game ruled when it was the first Trails game I played. Replaying it with the context of the five games that preceded it: it rules even harder.
#20 - The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel "Kiseki doesn't misseki," as they say. This game rules so hard. Getting to know every single weirdo at Thors Military Academy is a delight. Bless this series for having a cast of thousands and makin' me care about all of 'em. Keep 'em comin'.

I remember enthusiastically reading a walkthrough of the original Resident Evil in “Tips ‘n’ Tricks” magazine — I didn’t yet have a PSX, and my imagination conjured up even weirder and grosser horrors than were ultimately contained within the game.
At this pace I believe I will be able to finish Mafia: The Old Country sometime in early 2027

Send this to someone in their 30s or 40s and watch them stare off into the middle distance about how fleeting life is
Yeah, it's not terribly difficult if you make sure you've always got one party member with a few action points available to react and triage, but lord help you if you ever stray from that precept
I played the original DS for my podcast a couple years back and really thoroughly enjoyed it (despite not vibing with the dark fantasy aesthetic). I think key to my enjoyment was thinking about each area as being a distinct, "level"-like challenge that I was learning to master and explore.

Depends on the length and intensity. I don't mind shotgunning several short and/or breezy reads in a row, but if it's heavier or a lengthy time commitment I like to toss something light and short in between.

Yo, you're in my hood! My kid went through a period of intense interest in urban ruins about a year back, so I took him to Warner-Swasey and he just stood in the doorway, in awe, too nervous to venture inside. It was a cool and spooky experience for him! I got a kick out of it.

Played the first few chapters of the new Mafia game. "Walk/ride and converse" bores me more quickly than it used to, but boy howdy are the landscapes stunning.
Several years late I finally sat down to watch HUNDREDS OF BEAVERS, which is an incredible feat of cinema that everyone should make time for. My sides hurt.

#18 - Curse Crackers: For Whom the Belle Toils What a fun little surprise this was! A retro Game Boy Color visual aesthetic, a bunch of cute characters, and extremely bouncy platforming. More games should offer the slide-dash-into-a-rising-jumpkick move that Richter has in Symphony of the Night.

#17 - SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech I like a SteamWorld every now and then, don't you? They're charming and polished and don't overstay their welcome. I don't often take to deckbuilders, but this one has snappy combat and some real fun characters. Would steam again.
Do we have some sort of open-source BJ Blazkowicz? Hell, we could probably get by with an open-source Commander Keen at this point

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE. This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined. It is setting up to make what’s happening now look like child’s play. And people are disappearing.
