…because currently browsers do some subtle things to obscure that from JS (timing, fuzzing, etc) on the same-site side and AFAIK fully skip scroll restore from cross-domains. But scrolling ==> URI becomes a new vector to read and infer from that might be overlooked.

scroll gestures (behavioral patterns, cadence, acceleration, etc) can be high-entropy signals for fingerprinting, so making that fast, free & hard to block is maybe consequential scroll restoration (history) is typically blocked for cross-domain navigation so any spec would have to tiptoe there…

I would really enjoy watching a GDC-style talk about how to make maps/minimaps for games, and design considerraions for them. Generated or handdrawn? Heightmap? How much detail and why? Fog of war? So much to dig into

A screenshot of a minimap from World of Warcraft, showing the Durotar area in a hand-painted style. A map of an area from Visions of Mana, done in a vibrant, detailed hand-painted style. A screenshot of the map for Divine Beast Vah Naboris from Breath of the Wild. It’s shaped like an elephant, and the map is a transparent 3D model showcasing the layout inside. A screenshot of the map from Spider-Man 2, showing a top-down, low fidelity, monochrome 3D model of a section New York.

Maybe if I go to this show it will reverse the damage that HEALTH @ Rickshaw Stop did back when (cc: @redlamp.org)

Lazyweb, are there examples of games that work together in a larger ecosystem? LIke Animal Crossing but the amount of butterflies was determined by where you went in Pokémon GO I heard that Blaseball had some meta social participation stuff, which is interesting if tangential.

This is a superior interface for Spotify. We could have so much if their business model wasn’t defrauding musicians
