Grocery store chain in Texas. They've only opened a couple locations outside Texas - and those are in Mexico. After the terrible floods earlier this year, HEB provided more disaster relief than the state. They make fresh tortillas in store.
We just buy them at the HEB. The heat and politics here are hellish, but at least we got good grocery stores.

I was gonna say - he's not a law enforcement officer of any kind. And the Justice Department is supposed to be independent. Lots of supposed-to's not being enforced. Hell, a lot of the Constitution isn't being enforced these days.

I've heard one theory that after we die, we transcend the illusions of time and self. I figure that means that essentialy, we experience everything we've done, and everything we've done to others, all at once, over and over, for eternity. For some people, that could be pretty rough.

I'm convinced it's more than that. It's not enough to lift themselves up at our expense. They want to keep us down, to push us down, separately from whether or not they benefit. It's not enough for them to live in luxury and bliss; they want everyone else to live in squalor and misery.

I'd argue that Rs can push their policies more effectively because Ds' agenda usually includes things like fairness and democracy. When one side only cares about winning, they're likely to win more.
Talarico made the point that US House Democrats pushed an anti-gerrymandering bill recently. All Democrats voted for it, all Republicans voted against. Forgive me if I lack any sympathy for the GOP here. Also, if you sum up popular votes across all districts, Democrats are underrepresented.
