Five years ago the world very suddenly became a scary place. On this day of reflection I'm remembering how it showed the best of people - the desire to look after and help each other by making selfless sacrifices.

In 2004 Aileen and her crew went to assist a fishing vessel, Gower Pride, that had suffered engine failure in rough seas. They saved two lives that night. She was awarded an MBE in 2016 having dedicated much of her free time to saving lives at sea.
