I’m not so sure about that. November 11 is currently called “Veterans Day“. By renaming it to celebrate a group of veterans who are all dead, and no longer honors living veterans. I have several friends who are active duty or vets - they don’t love this change

I was exposed to a lot of WWII history. My Dad was in the US Navy in WWII. I was always taught about "the Allies" and knew we were allied with Europe as well as Australia and others. I also read "Baa Baa Black Sheep" in Jr. High and knew we were in the war "unofficially" in 1940.
