Infections and hospitalizations are now consistently increasing in all provinces. This is consistent with the start of a new wave. Deaths are not yet increasing but likely will in the next 1-2 weeks. Expected excess mortality due to COVID-19 in Canada is HIGH (9%, Forecast score 9).

COVID or not, I highly recommend considering masking right now especially if you are at risk. I know of 4 confirmed pneumonia cases across the country, in 3 states, 1 fatal. And a fifth suspected. And that’s just in *my circle.* But since the CDC has been gutted, who would tell us? Be careful.
