Retired now, back in UK after time away, likes walking, baking, motorcycles and warm weather. Definitely left of centre, pro EU. Don't DM me a generic "Hi" or "Hello" and little else it makes me guess you're a bot, ditto 1/2 naked pictures.

If I did it no one cares but if you're a public figure and firmly in the public eye and under intense press scrutiny all the time then it shows a fair degree of stupidity not to make sure that 💯 of transactions are above board and free from criticism.

I've often wished I lived in the alternate timeline where that was the end of the frog faced fascist.

Second shingles vaccine yesterday, having seen how hard shingles hit my dad I'll take the sore arm thanks.

I do like King Goblin, not a session beer though. That or Old Crafty Hen are what I'd usually grab for the weekend.

I once got a Facebook ban for quoting Blackadder. I now have a Reddit ban for quoting Monty Python. And these dumb twits want to use AI to run things 🤦🏼

It does depend what's being classified as avoidance. An ISA or as pension has a tax avoidance element and for good reason. That's somewhat different to e.g. a nameplate company in another jurisdiction being used to funnel profits through.

Stupidly using a skewer to clear blocked silicon sealant from a dispenser I managed to prove that with sufficient force it's possible to force a skewer quite a long way into and through a finger and as well as being possible it's bloody painful.
IanB (@obbgf.bsky.social) reply parent
The government were in a lose/lose scenario with this. Don't appeal or appeal and lose and have loads of similar challenges across the country. Appeal and win and the usual suspects are up in arms and ready to riot. This is all going to get messy.
IanB (@obbgf.bsky.social) reply parent
Ha. I had a filling replaced many years ago, my then dentist advised no need for a local. Hit a nerve, it hurt, a lot and he just missed me reflexively biting a finger. Never tried that since.

I suppose that at least from reform ltd's POV absent a Ouija Board there is bog all chance she's going to say / post some racist twaddle so an ideal candidate for them.

IanB (@obbgf.bsky.social) reply parent
Labour's messaging is dire. Doesn't matter how well they manage the problems they don't manage to get a coherent message out. Sadly reform ltd are winning the social media battle & the hearts and minds of the gammon. Tories are as bad, happy for them to be inn the doldrums.

I drove 1/2 way around the M25 Saturday for a friends 60th, the flagshaggers have been out in force draping flags over the bridges. Must have see a couple of dozen, although I've yet to spot my first painted roundabout 🤦🏼.

There's a few things but mostly she pled guilty, ergo admitted they offence and had a history of similar posting. He pled not guilty, the jury agreed, that's not getting away with it. They most likely also saw the full video I suggest you check it out too rather than the last seconds widely shown.

Obviously anecdotes are not evidence. I've had a few referrals in the last couple of years. Optician > treatment in hospital ~ 3 weeks, GP > ENT consultant 3 days. GP > consultant for Dupuytren's contracture still being messed about.

IanB (@obbgf.bsky.social) reply parent
Like much of the current labour government you're becoming what you claim to be fighting. And are amongst the reasons many have left the party and why this will be a one term government. BTW for the avoidance of doubt the OSA is a deeply flawed authoritatian nonsense and should be scrapped.

Improve NHS lists and in the balance is their attacks on the old, the disabled, trans folks, civil liberties. The support for genocide etc. Inflation is still rising too much. Personally it doesn't bug me much but his bold "smash the gangs" and failure to do so has handed a weapon to Fatrage
IanB (@obbgf.bsky.social) reply parent
I've often thought rarely is a change of government wanting the opposition in it's often/always that the country is fed up to the eye teeth of the incumbents. Labour benefited immensely from #GTTO
IanB (@obbgf.bsky.social) reply parent
They promised to be and one or two things in the beginning looked promising but the reality now is they're behaving worse in their vain attempt to out ghastly Fatrage. Shambling idiot that he was Bozo is not socially liberal than Starmer.

My BiL messaged me, he's sold my F800GS. So for the first time in years I am sans a PTW. I do have use of his in the UK[1] and another BiL's in Penang but somehow not the same. [1] A long story, in which it was unsurprisingly difficult insuring a non resident, non UK licence holder on a UK bike.
IanB (@obbgf.bsky.social) reply parent
I'd love too see them gone. Not sure that genie can be put back into the bottle anymore. Ukraine is a master class on what happens when you give up your big stick. They're a hideous idea, stupidly expensive and you hope never to use but a damn necessary ace to have stashed just in case.
IanB (@obbgf.bsky.social) reply parent
No matter how ghastly Starmer drives labour to be he'll never gain enough votes from the dimwits that vote for reform ltd to make up for those lost from those of us with any empathy.
IanB (@obbgf.bsky.social) reply parent
I am honestly not sure if they are less crap now. Started okay and went straight downhill. It took a term and a half for the gloss to wear off from Blair. Starmer managed it in a couple of months.
IanB (@obbgf.bsky.social) reply parent
If you want you reach the far right voters and sway them it's most likely necessary to talk to their mouthpieces.
IanB (@obbgf.bsky.social) reply parent
I knew that new new Labour would like Blair's original eventually disappointment. The ghastly easy they'd engineered the removal of the left for a start. I expected them again to manage one decent term not to be to the right of Thatcher in 12 months.
IanB (@obbgf.bsky.social) reply parent
There's a 💯 chance they'll completely stuff the economy if elected. Ergo even if the lying shits promised in their manifesto and intended to follow through (yeah right) they'd not be in a position to do so.
