This is welcome, but it would be better to start on the 2nd when the schools are open.

Unfathomable logic here. Either it is a state or not, Israel's action are irrelevant.

@newsagents.bsky.social, As a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and software developer I must take issue with your podcast's use of the term Engineer. The people headlined cannot by any measure be classed as Engineers. Elsewhere in Europe engineer is a protected status and this would not be permitted

I hope the right wing nutters who trashed the RNLI reflect on their stupidity as they watch coverage of the collision in the North Sea. The RNLI and their volunteers represent the country at its best.

My wife has multiple conditions which will not improve, yet she still has to have a full assessment. The renewal forms were sent 11 months ago, and had to be returned within a week. Still waiting for a decision.

It is refreshing to see a UK government minister resign on a matter of principle. I'm disappointed to see international aid cut, but understand the government is having to deal with difficult times.

Bizzare that a saint's day is considered a special occasion more by non-Christian countries.

In my local area, Severn Trent thinks it is acceptable to wait until hundreds of houses are built before upgrading the sewage system. Space was reserved to create a new doctor's surgery but this has now been cancelled, squeezing capacity elsewhere. Infrastructure should always be built first.

In 2023 the Tories in Nuneaton signed the @NBBCouncil up to a deal with Really Local Group to provide a cinema. @NBBCouncil & their auditors are refusing to provide details of that deal. I am very worried as 5 other failed ventures have burned around £12 million. insidecroydon.com/2025/01/23/t...

This is a very worthy cause. One of Africa's key railway museums has been damaged in a fire nearby. It desperately needs money to save the collection. Please donate generously www.justgiving.com/page/helen-a...

If you’ve had it with water profiteers getting dividends totalling £85 billion for their shareholders & millions in executive bonuses whilst you get a 40% hike in your water bills (some areas as high 84%) say absolute boll**** to that by signing/sharing this👇 actionnetwork.org/petitions/te...?

“It has proved impossible to obtain the specific backfill material required for placement behind the abutments on the new A46 bridge" Specifying a non-available material is a design failure, and should be entirely the responsibility of the contractors to resolve.

It's worse than this. If you have to pay for your care, it is at a higher rate than the council would pay for exactly the same service. In effect you are subsidising those who the taxpayer funds.

That's probably where they got the idea.

Definitely a good thing. Last concert many people were standing and holding up phones, ruining both their and others' experience to get poor quality videos.
