The progressive coalition might more realistically and productively be one of LD,GRN,YP standing aside for each other and threatening to do so for Labour in the seats they need Labour to win. This should release the tactical Labour vote everywhere else. Ranked preference polling to kick things off

That must be why the Labour government has done so well since gaining power? Those 427 seats have so helped the Labour government cruise to soaraway popularity, haven’t they? The truth is that Starmer has too little democratic legitimacy to govern, plus every incentive to just play the voting system

I've just watched this ABC (Oz) 4 Corners program with the same horrors I remember watching a 1950s program (involving Richard Dimbleby) on the liberation of Nazi concentration camps. If this doesn't result in war crime tribunals there is absolutely no justice. #Gaza www.abc.net.au/news/2025-08...

The article talks about borrowing as an alternative to cutting costs, but maybe it's time to tax wealth? Defense spending should be partly a common EU expense (not just a private concern of bordering countries), and at the same time, taxing wealth is something that countries cannot do alone.

Speaking as someone who studied and taught at US universities for over a decade, that KB has been telling this story for so long, without anyone in the UK previously questioning it is kind of amazing. It reflects total credulity about how the US works from the Spectator/Ashcroft etc.
