One thing to keep in mind re coverage of 'crime' is a fair number of journalists at mainstream institutions, especially those that live in the burbs, likely agree with Trump's urban occupations. They're in the "yes, *but*…" category, but they have bought into the mindset.

Yes. Six days ago they implemented a regulation claiming to give Bondi the authority to make any government lawyer a temporary immigration judge. Whether that’s legal remains to be seen. There will 100% be challenges, as a removal order issued by an unlawfully appointed judge shouldn’t be valid.
