There's more volume in three shots, then in the single combined MMR shot. So, if volume is the concern, this makes it worse.
Never enjoyed being 'caged'; hence, the free-ranging chicken in the photo. This bird was living a free life on a volcanic caldera in the Azores. Fitting location for a free-ranging retiree.

That means three times the visits to overburdened health clinics. There is not the clinic staff to support this nonsense. It also means more time off work for parents for separate injections; all based on what Trump feels. It's madness.

Where's the damage to Trump? He won the election, and republicans control the government. The more Trump is 'hit,' the more he thrives. Broadcast TV is dying. This will mark the beginning of the end. Content is moving online. For example, tonight's NFL game is on Amazon Prime.

It's 'Duck Curve' season with this drought. At my house, we are generating lots of solar with sunny days and using no energy for heating and cooling. We open windows at night; close them on the sunny side during the day. Solar is making up for lack of hydropower in this drought.

Utah State University (USU) graduate here (two degrees; 6.5 years on campus). What happened to going to classes, labs, studying, attending sporting events, weekend hikes and parties? That was life at USU. Politics was not suppressed; it just wasn't a thing students or professors discussed.

A permanent state of war is necessary to expand federal control. So now it's Department of War. National Guard troops in key cities are a natural progression. It's not a new idea: 'The Report From Iron Mountain,' satire from 1967, was prescient with this observation.

Yes, sirens would have made a difference, IF people had an evacuation plan and rehearsed it. Think fire drill. A building can be evacuated in minutes. Same with the campers; it's 'hill country,' so safety (i.e., higher elevation) is a short distance away, even in the middle of the night.

Put your lawyer hat on. Kerr County Judge describes this as the most dangerous river valley in the U.S.. Were parents of the girls at Camp Mystic aware of this fact and that the cabins were in the danger area? Also, it's reasonable to expect adequate safety plans for said kids. Were plans in place?
Brian H (@pegnymi-geologia.bsky.social) reply parent
The most dangerous river valley in the U.S., yet TX treats it like a playground, with camps in the flood zone. 4-8 inches of rain were predicted. Shock! More fell in some areas. It happens all the time now. Start believing; have adequate evacuation plans and warning systems in place.
Brian H (@pegnymi-geologia.bsky.social) reply parent
"...the most dangerous river valley in the United States, and we deal with floods on a regular basis." Kerr County Judge Rob Kelly. The hazard was known, yet TX treats the river as a playground. Camps within the floodzone; inadequate flood warning infrastructure (e.g., sirens). Don't blame Feds.
Brian H (@pegnymi-geologia.bsky.social) reply parent
It looks like the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority for the area where the floods are most devastating. How that guage information is relayed to emergency authorities and vulnerable populations [e.g., girls camps] will be subject to much scrutiny.
Brian H (@pegnymi-geologia.bsky.social) reply parent
Yes. Forecast was for 4-8 inches, but local amounts were reportedly higher. That's why river gages that provide real-time flow info are so important. As is a well-rehearsed evacuation plan with warning sirens. I've been on rivers with such sirens; usually for dam releases. When you hear them: MOVE!
Brian H (@pegnymi-geologia.bsky.social) reply parent
Geologist here. This event is not unimaginable; in fact, the flood areas are well known. For mitigation, it's all about timely evacuation. The Qs to ask are: 1- Flood gages and warning systems in that area. Did they have them? Did they work? 2- Was there an evac. plan for the girls' camp?

It costs about $500 per day to federalize and deploy domestically a National Guard (NG) soldier. If most of those 100,000 military personnel are NG, then that's $50 million per day for this self-inflicted 'disaster.' Yet, no money for FEMA for real disasters.

The GOP is also silent about the costs associated with federalizing and deploying National Guard (NG) troops.
