Another thing I get to learn from my garden this year is how to determine when my green apples are ripe. One way I’ve read about is by seed color-when the seeds inside the apples are brown, the apple is ripe. Not ideal to cut the apple open to use that method! But mine still have a bit to go 🌱

A White-breasted Nuthatch who lifted off from a Colorado Blue Spruce. They are quite agile in their ability to navigate around tree bark while even hanging upside down at times. They place nuts in the bark so that they can break the seed free from within. #birds #nature #photography #wildlife

In addition to the above, there is no where else I can overnight a miracle nipple or quality kitten formula if we need supplies in an emergency at midnight. We are in a relatively rural area with no pet stores open 24-hours. I hate to say it but using Amazon has absolutely saved tiny lives before.
There are many small non-profits that need amazon wishlists and meta accounts to survive. That's just a hard reality that a lot of casual private users don't seem to understand. They don't have the option to simply boycott and lose all of the donations that flow through those channels.
