FIV positive cats can live in harmony with FIV negative cats, Marm from @coleandmarmalade.bsky.social lived with Cole for years and now lives with foster kittens all the time. FIV is only transmitted by heavy fights with bite wounds, or eventually also by mating. #EndTheFIVStigma 💖💖💖

Yeah, Bradshaw animal shelter is honestly fantastic at what they do.

I have two FIV+ rescues and they are wonderful companions living full lives.

When I was looking to adopt last year there was an FIV+ kitten I was interested in but they refused to adopt out to a home with an FIV- cat. It was so frustrating because they were just making it unnecessarily more difficult to find a home for that little guy.

That's good to hear. FIV is still a rare and misunderstood condition in the UK, I can't even find an FIV+ companion for Eli in a reachable shelter and the idea that a non FIV cat could live happily with him has everyone here clutching their pearls.

When I adopted 8 years ago I was told misleading info at the shelter. Hope Mike and Butch are okay. They were 2 I wanted to adopt 😢
