Compiling into an ebook is straightforward once things are setup. Going from v1 to v3 was frustrating, but there's community support, and they have quick answers. Setting up styles and sticking to them is a good way to be consistent. I generate a doc and format it separately for paperback.

I would go crazy without Scrivener keeping track of all the elements in my books. I keep writing skill notes, screenwritingU class notes, and everything so I have it in one place. There is a bit of a learning curve, but it's fantastic and dependable software. It can make backups too.

Fiction: Most of my favorite authors are in sci-fi, like @davidbrin.bsky.social or @greatdismal.bsky.social @veronicarothbooks.com plus Emily Bronte, Nora Roberts, etc. Non-fiction: Temporarily disabled by antibiotics with years of health challenges, info on the microbiome is a core interest.

More of my daughter's #craft tools. Before crochet and embroidery there were intricate rubber band creations. K: I used to do a lot of rainbow loom. I made pencil huggers, bracelets, keychains, etc. This is what I used to do that. Rubber bands, a loom, hooks, beads, and some charms

My grammar phobias will save me from being labeled as AI, unless a backlash leads to AI writers removing their em dashes. Then people who don't use em dashes might be part of a new AI witch hunt. Oxford comma forever. If that gets associated with AI writing, that's just because it's correct. ๐

I find the em dash unsettling and the semicolon uncomfortable. I rewrite sentences to stop the grammar checker from suggesting them. Most instances in my book come from human editor changes over much angst for accepting the change. It's one of my peculiarities.

Born in LA and probably die in LA. I've seen a lot of changes over the years. As a kid I got picked to do the six million dollar man demo. I worked at Universal during 9/11. Used to be able to borrow a golf cart and go on the lot. Afterward they put mirrors under our car to check for bombs.

My mom's painting, my daughter's artwork, Veronica Mars poster signed by the cast. The main wood desk, with folding table I write on, 47" main screen and 120" projector which was a handy when I was disabled. Paper and computer notes. Temporary 3rd table as I break to fold laundry.

Those sorts of things are a long shot, but can happen. I would look at existing movies of his books and then try to track down info for the smaller producers on those films which are more likely to be more accessible. Get a producer tangentially connected to start the ball. Be well prepared first.

Also within walking distance, #randysDonuts, as seen here in Fallout or Marvel's Runaways. Or in Iron Man 2, 2012, etc. Not sure why that wasn't my first thought on stuff in walking distance. I touch trees nearby. I think a lot about biomes and the microbiome, and it'll be a part of my 3rd book.

And when I look at ADHD traits, I also see some of that in all three generations too. I come up with good book cover designs, but I can't do any art myself. I'm pretty sure I was trauma-blocked in early childhood after my sister died. I was drawing, had a breakdown, and art was never the same.

Radio mix tapes were easy. The techno/rave mixes were harder to find. I didn't see it sold in stores until much later. NY is on my list. That's a real city. LA is home, but it's really more a bunch of towns crammed together. LA and NY sometimes rank near the top as best AND worst places to live.

Some mix tapes were hard to get. I still have a soft spot for rave whistles and mushroom hats. One underground took over a waterpark overnight. For a while I use to keep the old flyers for the parties. Of course, Burning Man went several steps beyond those experiences.
