Thanks for actually explaining the issue. Agreed people should be able to make their own medical choices and further, plenty of big choices are legally available to people at age 16/18/21. So even if Newsomâs position were not transparently full of shit, it also seems unlikely to pass legal muster đ§

This is the case with every technology ever, but the theme seems to be that we as users have come to accept change being handed down to us as an inevitable condition of use. Which is why the idea of decentralized/ open source platforms holds such promise. It can be whatever you want. Be the change.
So Iâm also embarking on this move away from reliance on Meta (for me, Bsky is what Threads was briefly promising to be) and as a necessary part of that exercise of kind of dissecting my usage of social media in general. What occurred to me is how the core of each platform morphs over time.
