Thomas Jane was robbed IMHO. He had amazing potential, but instead they mashed up everything in his movie. I loved his return in The Punisher: Dirty Laundry (Bootleg Universe).
The "dorky" was fine, it was the absolute lack of energy and chemistry on screen, on top of his lack of physicality for the role. I appreciate he went to the effort of actually learning some Chinese martial arts for the role, but none of it showed.
Actually, building on that, the only "street level" (read: series not movie) miscast I can think of was Finn Jones as Iron Fist. Everyone else was pretty solid.
Jon Bernthal and Charlie Cox are two actors who I am comfortable saying were PERFECTLY cast. Not only are their portrayals of the Punisher and Daredevil iconic, they have good energy in every scene they share.

The moment a video opens with "This is banned by [fill in industry/group]..." while I'm scrolling, I hit the block button. 98.7% of the time it's either some alt tech or medicine garbage, and the other 1.3% of the time it's just straight up misinformation.

2/2...Emperor hasn't issued them new orders countering the Terminus Decree. But most likely, in most scenarios and without plot armour, the Grey Knights would make a noble attempt and fail. The fallout of which would likely initiate a new civil war.
Honestly? Yes. At the end of it all, Custodes are better combatants and have numerical and tactical advantage over the Grey Knights. The Grey Knights best course of action would be to reveal the Terminus Decree to the Custodes and hope they follow orders or that the newly reborn/freed/ascended...1/2
10/10 In his hubris, he assumed the "father" thing was superficial and that his creations were going to be like the Custodes, ready and willing to serve and asking for nothing. And the Custodes missed this too. But, anyways, the main thing is that the Primarchs were necessary.
9/10...environments, and then deployed into the battle for the future. Instead, they (to varying degrees), experienced "life". Some were loved. Others abused. But they learned about "family". And the Emperor, in an act that doomed his enterprise, never actually acknowledged what this meant.
8/10...Primarchs is WHY they became what they became. Custodes are selected at or soon after birth. They never know family, or experience "life" in a normal way. And the Primarchs weren't supposed to either. They were supposed to emerge in the lab, be raised in sterile, directly controlled...

6/10 So he created 20 Primarchs and matching Legions. Now, we all know the plan went sideways, but the concept was sound. The Primarchs and their Legions were effectively a post-human "relatable step" between normal baseline humanity and the Custodes and Emperor. They were the face of things.
5/10...functional ones. Mordians. Kriegers. Which is, in part, why the Emperor made Primarchs and Space Marines. The Thunder Warriors were a huge success, but too unstable to take into space. Their bodies were prone to sudden, fatal mutation and no one needs to deal with that in warp transit.
4/10...they can't actually understand, or motivate, normal humans anymore. Like, at all. They see the world in a stark, black and white "obey or die" lens that prevents them from considering things like morale and motivation. When you look at the normal humans they like, they're the least...

It is and it isn't. 200m would be HeliOx work using Saturation Diving, or ADS (hardsuit) diving. So it can be done, it's just expensive, risky, and requires highly specialized training to accomplish. For perspective, most conventional diving (sport & commercial) is between 6 and 50m in depth.
Weird but True: A lot of the core technology for scuba diving and working underwater is late 19th to mid 20th century stuff. Yes, we have computers and all that good stuff now, but they just work these old systems better.

THIS. I'm already seeing comedy skits that are recycling anti-Black stereotypes and racism using robots/androids etc... as a poorly pallette swapped analogues. Rebranding racism in fictional scenarios/content only reinforces it in reality by normalizing the behaviour.
TBH, outside the Ciaphas Cane series and a few short stories, I think the satire has been dead in the series since about 3rd Edition.
I mean, it's not impossible that he's a weapon from the dark age of technology. Time means nothing in the warp, so him zapping back in time repeatedly to try to conquer the place still tracks.
3/3 The Emperor is powerful. But his greatest power was his organizational skills. His ability to (until Horus) pick, collect, and direct the right people to achieve his ends. But yeah, not all powerful. This has been your heresy for the day.
2/3...god, whether by intent or accident. But the reality is that he's much closer to being a kind of pagan god; and within the lore, he's a warp god-to-be (the Dark King). But there's still a lot of people IRL, when discussing the setting, who treat him like he's all powerful.
I think that something people tend to forget about the Emperor of Mankind in #WH40k is that he's neither omniscient or omnipotent. The deep christian imagery and vocabulary around his worship in the setting makes it an easy thing to forget, because the immediate comparison is to the christian...1/3

It's a consistent issue, and one of their world building fails with the whole "1000 space marines to a chapter" thing. There's a few chapters that only seem to operate at chapter level, but they're all assault types with the strategic planning level of "drop us here, then attack everything".

2/2...messing around in Canva with some alternate designs, and I can already feel how it's changing how I see the game mechanics function. It's a little more complex looking than the standard character portfolio, but it breaks things down and makes tracking easier. At least to me.

I seen this response a lot, and here's the thing. Effort was made to propel the Avengers from B to A list. Whereas with the Fantastic Four, they seem to just expect that it'll work right out of the box without all the work up.

2/2... came with having people whose motto was the design equivalent of "Git gud, scrub!" putting stuff together for people who weren't clones to use. So, yeah. There was some peak design back in the day. And design conventions are (broadly) good for smooth experiences. But there was junk too.
I'm about 85% on side with this. There was some really great UI/UX design back in the day, but there was also a nasty amount of "designed by techs for techs who think like the techs designing the UI/UX" design, especially with professional software. And the equally cumbersome workflows that...1/2

I agree and think a family team could absolutely kill it in the MCU. Just not the Fantastic Four as they are now though. They feel like filler.

Seeing the BF6 open beta footage has me wanting to play an FPS again. Damn.
Also, from a #TTRPG standpoint, the final shootout scene is almost beat for beat something you can pull off in #Cyberpunk or #Shadowrun. It's a great example of cover being used, characters acting their injuries, and the tension reloads bring to the whole operation.
