I’m sure she will be aware of that when she realizes how we are together. She will take some time though. I don’t think she has her head around the fact that Matt is already a father figure to him. I think she’s envisioning a situation where our relationship is some shameful thing we would hide.

I hope it's going well for you. I'm sorry it's so nerve racking; I remember feeling the same way the first time I introduced a partner to my family. Try not to be too hard on yourself; you did it when you were ready, and you had a harder path than most in coming to terms with your sexuality.
It’s been an uneven coming out for me. I oathed to not make my bf be a dirty secret after my ex made me feel that way (he eventually got over it, but the feeling happened). I haven’t been like him but if I go any farther down this road then I will be. And that’s sad for us and all gay people.
You're doing fine. You don't owe anything to anyone. Just do it for you and that's all that matters. Or don't, and that's okay too. You know what right for your heart. Follow your heart.
